Dear Diary:

I knew this day was coming because all my "friends" on TexAgs F16 had warned me. But today the spell check stopped on the word "unmanned" and it told me it was not a gender inclusive word and suggested I change it to "unstaffed." Fortunately they have a button that says never check for this issue again. I did that, we'll see if the paperclip listens.

I'm curious OP what would happen if you typed in the "V" word for lady parts.

Would Microsoft suggest "front hole" instead?

Child's College Roommate

What would you do?

Child is a senior going to college several hours away from home. No one from high school attending the same college, so child gets assigned a roommate by the University.

Child finally finds assigned roommate on social media. Apparently, based on posts, assigned roommate is gay and apparently militantly liberal.

My child has been raised in a conservative Christian home and holds conservative values.

Is this an untenable situation where we should urgently seek a roommate change or find a new living situation? Or am I overreacting?

My girl got free tickets from a friend and had no clue what it was about-- just that it was the final tour. She's a Catholic private school girl so I thought "oh....this'll be fun........". (We did have very nice seats and I was ordering beers from the hostess lady like a madman)

Hot garbage. Spoiler alert:

Everybody uses heroine, gets AIDs and dies.

About 5 or so minutes before Act 1 was over she leans over and says "Let's GTFO of here and go over to Bohannon's for a drink." I sat my beer cup/now spit cup, down and obliged.

I guess that I'm NY, trans, gay, drugs, AIDs, white guilt phobic..........


Edit for-- ya I did a piss poor job of laying this out.

My adult female companion, who is very conservative and innocent about many things because she was shielded her entire life in private catholic school and private catholic university-- had no idea what Rent was "truly" about. She knew it was about kids in Manhatten trying to pay their rent--- but that was about it.
Content like this is off her radar because she's not big on plays or musicals-- not that I am either-- except for "Best little *****-house in Texas". I love that sheet.

Even these are starting to really suck. Vast majority of Prime and Netflix movies are complete crap. Every once in a while we will sit down to try to find something to watch and it's not uncommon to spend 45 minutes sifting through CGI filled crap movies with zero depth before we give up and just decide to watch nothing and call it a night. It's either that, or the stuff is so degenerate, we have no desire to watch it. And I am not straight laced when it comes to movies.

As an alternative to all of the crap movies out there...a lot of conservatives are opting to divert their attentions to the little super computers in their hands and spend hours at a time in their online "right wing bubbles", exposing themselves to increasingly "radical" ideas (or ones mouth breathing society might deem radical), in line with those of our founding fathers. While my conservative friends might not have drifted far right in the last two years in terms of ideas and principles, the left has drifted far left and my conservative friends have less tolerance and patience for this now than ever...largely as a result of drowning themselves in right wing social media circles that constantly illustrate how crazy, hateful and anti-American these liberal monster have become. Now that they are openly coming after children...buddies who were politically apathetic two years ago, are now expressing hatred for white leftists on a level I never thought I'd see.
