What am I missing? Cheap reliable electric cars seem like a huge win for everyone.
1. if you think china has unfairly subsidized their ev industry and you want to impose punitive tariffs to induce them to remove subsidies.
2. if you think china is a geopolitical adversary and the ev industry has strategic importance and you don't want us demand to be used to help subsidize the development of chinese heavy/semiconductor industry and/or you don't want us producers to be eliminated via competition with chinese producers.
since neither political party really believes in free trade currently, i think it's clearly the second one, although we might at times argue the first as a fig leaf.

other than losing muscle as well as fat, i haven't heard of a single concern re. glp-1 use. on the contrary, every story that comes out on them is is like "welp, we found another thing these drugs cure without even trying".

« on: April 28, 2024, 09:51:15 PM »Sheep used to be a real life thing in WKS and alot of other places but then some smart people invented synthetic fibers and no one needed wool anymore. From my limited research the meat you can get from sheep is not really worth it by itself so you would need to shear the sheep for wool which is a pain in the ass and labor intensive which is why BEEF is now the dominant bovine in most of the US.
My dad did mention they had a small herd of sheep at the cat ranch back in the 70's but the only reason I remember that is because he said they always got some nasty parasites/worms that you would pull out through their nostrils.
if i lose less than $1000 and don't get a parasite they have to pull out of my nose on this hobby i'll consider it a huge win.
