without a doubt. you guys know who was an actual country singer w/ talent? charlie pride. that's who. guess who had a chalie pride album that he used to play on his own personal record player all of the time in 1st-2nd grade? me. that's who. that's how i know how awesome he was. suck it clint black. there's a new sheriff in town and he's the same guy as the old one.

Conway Twitty is way better

Ironically, pretty sure George justed passed Conway for the most number one singles (of any genre) of all time.  Or something along those lines.  They had a pop question type of thing on the radio, asking who George passed for that record.  I assumed Elvis or the Beatles, was surprised Twitty was that prolific.  Knew he was pretty big time, but didn't realize he was that big time.

Also, Geroge Strait was the first concert I ever attended.  Faith Hill  opened up for him and we scored fourth row tickets (for free!) from the dad of the chick my buddy was banging at the time.  I think Faith had like 2 singles at that point, (she was still rocking the hairspray bangs) but still lovely.

Little known fact:  music snob michigancat LOVES George Strait.  My first favorite song was "All My Exes", and I sing it to my girls every night when they go to bed.

I think most of his new stuff kind of blows, though.  Sometime after Pure Country he just kind of packed in and started putting out stuff to get a paycheck.  He was way better when he was covering bob wills and stuff.  /snob
