I would be going after PG's like crazy if I were the staff.  Of course, I wanted Chris Babb.

a pg seems a priority in 2011.  and they already have 2 longish combo points in the 2010 class.  so i can't imagine they'd take another 2010 pg with the 4th 'ship.

I just think the 2 guys they have coming in won't be any good at scoring/ball handling.  Would like a good juco PG.  Did you catch Darius Johnson-Odom playing for marquette?  I like watching that team play, and really like Buzz.

i'm pretty comfortable with pullen as the 2010-11 pg and russell, southwell and spradling getting backup and combo minutes.

i'm not sure that taking a juco pg would jepardize chances with an upper echelon 2011 pg, but it would, at the least, be a lot of 'ships to devote to 1s and combos.

personally, i'd rather get a juco shooter with a little size.

Really don't understand recruiting another JUCO big.  If were serious about him, which I doubt, I'd be concerned about Asprillia's eligibility.  Anyone know if he's playing at Dade yet?

Love the idea of a JUCO atheletic 2/3 shooter.  I like the kid from Blinn, but I have no idea if we'll get involved.  Feel more comfortable with Russell as the back-up PG than I would anyone in the JUCO ranks.  WIsh he'd get out of the doghouse and get some game experience though.

What possible eligibility issues would keep him from playing at a juco after he's already played D1 ball?  Amateur status issues?  Haven't heard a single thing that would make anybody worry about that.

Amateur status issues?

yes.  and the reason to think it is that he hasn't played.  same with colon.

re. asprilla.  i can't find anything definitive, but if he's played, he hasn't been a top scorer (sometimes 2 listed, sometimes 3) in any of the miami-dade games.  i'd assume he hasn't played.

bossi on mitchell in houston.

Quote
Tony Mitchell, F, Pinkston- 30 points, 11 rebounds, nine blocks and four assists don’t even begin to tell the story of how dominant Mitchell was. He held his own personal dunk contest around the rim, shared the ball, and stroked a trio of NBA range threes because, well, he can. Missouri’s Mike Anderson has to be salivating over the thought of placing Mitchell into his high octane system. Most impressive was how economical he was in racking up his numbers. Mitchell just needed 13 shots from the floor to do his damage.

He keeps playing like that he’s going to have to open a new bank account.

gpc poster now saying that williams has committed to walk on at kstate next year.  expected to challenge ojeleye for the starting walk on spot almost immediately.

Good news imo.  We are kind of lacking in non-scholly players, right?

actually we were kind of butting up against the limit.  martin had to chase off a guy to make room for williams.

more good press for mitchell (free).

Quote
At 6 feet 8 and 220 pounds, Mitchell is a high-level, NBA-type athlete who has the potential to be a go-to wing scorer.

Presently, Mitchell has a game that is rough around the edges. There are occasional mental lapses along with turnovers and bad shots. But when you cut through the mistakes, you have a prospect with incredible long-term potential.

Could Mitchell creep into the top 10 in the final Rivals150 in the spring and overtake fellow small forward Jelan Kendrick? Yes. It is a distinct possibility considering how fast Mitchell's game is progressing.

Does he catch the No. 1 wing prospect in the country, Harrison Barnes? No. Mitchell might have a dose of athleticism that Barnes doesn't possess, but other than that, Barnes' game is much more advanced. Nonetheless, if one day Mitchell is putting up better numbers than Barnes in the NBA, I wouldn't be surprised.

Kids not good.  A guy from my school is 6-9 and has skills a lot better than him.  Of course the guy in my school you may see pop up in years to come because I think he may commit to Cloud County CC and go D1 after a few years.

Would you rather him be ineligible or whatever and redshirt this season?  Or, would it be better for us to have him playing and getting more experience, staying in game shape, maybe increasing his skill set, etc?

from a kstate fan perspective, i think it'd be nice to have him redshirt.  i don't think he's going to be a significantly better player for playing vs just practicing though his soph year at juco.

oth, if the redshirt is imposed against his will due to some eligibility question...  i'd rather have the peace of mind of knowing that whatever issue may or may not have existed is over with and won't impact his time at kstate.
