    appreciates fine art
Kid has a 46-inch vertical leap. Kid would be an absolute stud in Martin's system. Another inch or so and he would have great size for a shooting guard. Kid has a nice stroke and is very strong. Would be a nice get.

His jump-shot reminds me of Ron Kellogg.  Much more athletic though.

I see Kareem Rush with an extra 12 inches of lift

More information on Dunson. He definitely sounds like a Martin player (except he can shoot!).

http://midstatehoops.com/v5/index.php?s=dunson

Brandon Dunson 6’3” 180 lbs PG Wabash Valley
Stats: 12 ppg, 4 apg, 4 rpg, 53% FG
Considering: Kansas State, Nevada, UCLA, Valparaiso
Notes: Dunson has improved steadily over the course of the season making the transition from the wing to the point. One of the nation’s quickest and fastest guards, he’s an explosive athlete that is very good at creating scoring opportunities for his teammates. On top of that he nearly always controls the pace of the game. The lefty can also score the ball, shooting 40% from 3 and 53% from the field. Defensively Dunson is a ball hawk that always guards the opposition’s biggest offensive threat and his 46 inch vertical leap helps him to be a factor on the glass. His most underrated asset may be his leadership ability as he is a coach on the floor.

From that garish description he sounds like every coach in the world's type player.  Read the rest of the bios on that link.  It seems there are about 12 NBA HOF talents in the juco ranks this year (interestingly, Wabash and Highland have three each!)

I have no interest in the Dunson kid what-so-ever.  Hope like hell he doesn't end up at KSU.

Will be interesting to see where Jio Fontan ends up. Really unclear right now. A lot of schools are involved with the Fordham transfer.... Alabama, Kansas State, Maryland, Miami, Oklahoma State, Tennessee, and USC are all in the picture for Fontan.

cyismydog called dunson a midmajor player.  valley level.

not necc. inappropriate for a big 12 backup combo point.

Can I ask why?

Because I don't think we need a juco kid who likely won't play more than 2 minutes per game and just xfer after his first season possibly &@#%ing up our APR.

I'd rather give it to a 5 star player that's going to &@#% up our APR.

Can someone explain to me how a 6 foot 3 170 pound white kid from Overland Park fits into our roster?

We need to get this kid looked at: http://www.collegecoaches.net/2604/profile.aspx

He's from right down the road and scored 27 on Spradling and held him to 13 points this summer in an AAU game

Yet you think a 6'3" 180 lb white kid from Wamego would be a better fit?  You are one stupid son of a bitch.   Sprads is a nice player.  Will be nice to have a true pg when he gets here.  And he shoots well from the arc.   Plus, making ties with Spiece could really pay big dividends down the road.

to the credit of Spiece Mo-Kan PG 2010 Will Spradling (A Kansas State commit) the kid was as cool as ice in draining an NBA range three pointer to beat us in the waning seconds.

Speaks volumes about Wamego High that a kid in the top third of his class with a 3.65 gpa only drops an 18 on the ACT.

Right, not much difference physically, and they are two completely different players. I was asking how he fits in apart from mentioning Lindhorst because, again, they are two completely different players. Spradling is impressive. Lindhorst can do damage as well.

Lots of spelling errors as well, probably not the brightest crayon in the box. Probably  in class. Only knows how to  :skillz:

    Hey, basketball!!!
Possible Transfer?

From an article today on Madison.com:

The father of Jeronne Maymon, who abruptly left the Marquette men's basketball program last month, said the former Madison Memorial star is nearing a decision on where he will transfer.

Tim Maymon said Wednesday morning his son likely will make his decision by Sunday. A source close to the Memorial program said Jeronne Maymon is headed to Tennessee, but his father said that's not necessarily the case.

"Tennessee is still involved," Tim Maymon said, "but it's not a guarantee."

According to his father, Jeronne Maymon is deciding from a list of schools that also includes Arkansas, Kansas State and UCLA.

Marquette coach Buzz Williams announced Dec. 14 that Jeronne Maymon had left the Golden Eagles roughly one-third of the way through his freshman season. The 6-foot-6 forward averaged 4.0 points, 4.2 rebounds and 16.3 minutes in nine games off the bench for Marquette.

Jeronne Maymon has yet to speak publicly about his decision to transfer. Tim Maymon has said his son, a two-time Associated Press Player of the Year who helped Memorial win a WIAA Division 1 state title last season as a senior, wasn't happy with how he was being used in Marquette's system.

Tim Maymon, who was scheduled to speak with representatives from Arkansas and UCLA on Wednesday, said he's trying to help his son find a program where he'll be happy.

"We'll discuss what are their plans for Jeronne," Tim Maymon said. "We're not doing another Buzz issue. The whole problem with the whole Buzz situation was he didn't want Jeronne to out-do anybody on that team until his sophomore year. And that shouldn't matter - if he's going to help you, he's going to help you.

"They didn't want to play the game right, so now we're going to watch them lose every game. That's just how it works.

"You don't bring a kid in and not use him the way he's supposed to be used. So this kid has left the state of Wisconsin as one of the premier players in the state. "

Should add that he fits the Frank Martin mold of a big G/undersized F that is physical and can't shoot.  :dunno:
