Just a random tweet, but it makes me think something is going to happen today.

Someone mentioned on our website that there was supposed to be some announcement yesterday, but it was canceled.

The person then insinuated that it could have been travel related in the cancellation.

Forgive my ignorance, but who the eff is David Amos?

I've hated the hiring of OB since the beginning, so this kind of makes me feel validated.

banner?   :emawkid:

I get to stand under this banner too.

Oh, and so does everyone else on goEMAW not named Tannoudji.
When he was hired I was one of those "LET'S WAIT TILL WE SEE HIS STAFF."  Loved that VK was on there, then after he left i've been slowly dying and realizing the magnitude of what's happened.

I was so blind.

I'd be very surprised if Harbaugh wants him as an NFL DC.

If that's true and he's flying out of/through Hartsfield, that's actually more likely than not.

There were also 200 cancellations at DFW yesterday (per the same guy).  So he may have taken a different flight or something if going through KC would get him there faster.

I don't know.  It could be a lot of things.

I'd be very surprised if Harbaugh wants him as an NFL DC.
He could make almost as much as a Linebacker coach with the Niners as he could as a DC with KSU.  And he would have half the responsibility (especially compared to DC under OBz) and be able to fly completely under the radar.  If he has aspirations of eventually coaching in the NFL this would likely be the best route to go because most NFL coaches work their way up from lower NFL gigs, not from the college ranks.  With the obvious exception of head coaches in college jumping to the NFL...Spurrier, Saban, Carrol, etc.

JL can come to KSU, be moderately successful at first, have 1-2 4* recruits/yr, own KU, have Tech-type level of success and make the occasional run at the B12CH and he will be worshipped by the 'tards and the tucks. I think that would be the pinnacle. JMO

I realize you are saying this would be the pinnacle or best case scenario, but having a top 50 recruting class year in and year out and winning 8-9 games a year with a chance at the league championship once in a while would be fantastic. Not saying Jim could do this for us but I would take that every day if I believed he could.

i would be one of the tards worshipping him if he became the head coach and had mike leach ttech type success. he won't. leach went to a bowl game every single year he was there and finished in the top twenty 5 out of the last 6 years he was there while leavitt went 5-9 in the big east conference during his last two years and has never finished a season ranked in the top 25 his entire life. nothing that leavitt has ever done should make a person think that he even belongs in the same league as mike leach.

If Leavitt made his decisions based on money he would never have gone to USF and he would have never turned down Alabama.

Plus, his ceiling in the NFL is probably a coordinator position.  They want the young hot guys that will help sell tickets to be the HC.  Leavitt is not that with baggage.

How would it be bad for fans to "accept" this level for K-State football?  Really.  This is pretty much exactly what I want to see.

who do you think would have a better chance of accomplishing this, mike leach or jim leavitt? also, what odds would you give each of accomplishing the above?

Leach b/c he's done it before at a somewhat similar school.  But Leavitt is more realistic to get and not a bad option.

Leach = HC
Mangino = OC
JL = DC
