BITB: I think Snyder is considering stepping down if Leavitt wants the HC job.

:surprised:

My Snyder sense is tingling.

I've hated the hiring of OB since the beginning, so this kind of makes me feel validated.

banner?   :emawkid:

I get to stand under this banner too.

Oh, and so does everyone else on goEMAW not named Tannoudji.
When he was hired I was one of those "LET'S WAIT TILL WE SEE HIS STAFF."  Loved that VK was on there, then after he left i've been slowly dying and realizing the magnitude of what's happened.

I was so blind.

The rapid downward descent began for me at the announcement of Chris Cosh as the DC two years ago.  There was a brief reversal of course when Vic Koenning and Andy Ludwig were hired.

But now I'm in full on tailspin mode.

Snyder has officially broken me.

That's almost exactly what happened to me.

Yeah...you can go ahead and put me in this camp too.  Here's a rough draft of our official banner:

COACH?!  :surprised: ...  :users: ... :dunno: ...  VIC!!  :emawkid: ... COSH!??!?!  :barf: ... :bawl: ...  :goodbyecruelworld:

Got some anger brewing...I may just single handedly fund Pete's billboard myself.

Nepotism, cronyism, whatever it is, however you want to cut it...  This is about his placing his personal relationships and taking care of his peon yes men ahead of the success of the program and the university.  This isn’t about winning any more.  This isn’t about building anything.

This is about Snyder taking care of Snyder, because he can.  And while his greed and selfishness and his loyalty to a fault are going to ultimately destroy his legacy at this school, he’s either completely oblivious or he simply cannot help himself.  At the end of the day, he’s just hurting the school and eroding away the program he built.  It’s pretty sad to watch, in all actuality.

But this is Snyder 2011, although the majority of the mouth breathing shirt tuck idiots will never be honest with themselves about it.  His administration as head coach, is to allow himself to be surrounded by completely incompetent individuals, simply because they tolerate the insufferable work conditions he places them under knowing they have no other opportunities and because he irrationally believes that he can fix them into being getter coaches if given the time to do so.  That’s the problem with Snyder, and anyone that possesses this type of insane control freak mentality, is that they believe they have the authoritative power to correct anyone and anything.  He doesn’t need to surround himself by talent, he just needs to fix what he has.  This is the exact same approach he takes to recruiting.  And if there is anything the last two years have taught us, is that Snyder hasn’t evolved or adapted to the game, he’s actually become more stubborn and omnipotent.

Texas Christian University coach Gary Patterson has been hired as Kansas State's 34th football coach, multiple sources have confirmed to GoPowercat.com.  Patterson replaces Ron Prince, who was fired Wednesday. - Tim Fitzgerald   Nov, 7, 2008

Love it or Leavitt!

Jim Leavitt named head football coach at Kansas State University.

:surprised:

I just don't see it.  Snyder will have at least one year as a transition.

Otherwise, why would Currie hire Leavitt?  He could just have some normal coaching search.

Snyder wouldn't step down otherwise. This gives Currie the opportunity to hire a coach who the boosters won't hate, while giving Snyder the opportunity to leave on his own terms. If this is true, Currie would be stupid not to do it because it's probably the only way he's going to get rid of Snyder without having to fire him.

*I don't think it's true, either, fwiw, but it does make some sense.

Exactly.  I think Currie would rather start a search from scratch right now than have bill force levitt down his throat.  I hope, anyway.

Quote from: some dude on kstatefans on what BITB has been saying
Keitz mentioned settlement and Tampa article....and how JL will be somewhere shortly (KSU or SF 49rs).

He speculates that Leavitt may be trying to leverage the 49rs and KSU for head coaching job now.

He thinks Snyder might be considering stepping down now if Leavitt were hired as HC.

That's a radio station in Tampa.  Folks, if Leavitt was coming to Manhattan it would be announced by now.  Sorry.
