attempted to start from the beginning but :DNR: after about page 4.  Is the Nook still the way to go?

Have two Nook Colors running as android tablets in my house.  they are ok.  They freeze up more often than I would like.  However, for the cost, it is tolerable. Other than that they are fine.

The touchscreen is brutally bad.

If you root it, run nook screen recalibration from the market. It helps tremendously.

Good tip. Will try.

Initial impressions are very positive.  Thanks.

If you have certain cable or isp or something, you can get the nbc olympics apps and watch all that crap live while everyone's bitching about it.  You'll like pocket planes on the big screen.  Most networks have apps to watch full eps, you can watch bachelor pad et al on the abc app.  If you've got amazon prime, you can watch all the instant video stuff free w/that app.  Turntable obviously.  I use pages, kindle (for pdfs) and notability for work stuff.  Maybe get on twitter finally?

What tablet would be best to watch a KSU game on firstrow? I would then use it for couch browsing and airplane video watching and travel stuff. I need to have it in about 2 weeks time. Was considering the Nexus 7 because it's cheap and gets good reviews. Saw the Nexus 10 is coming out soon but it is getting into iPad price territory and I would imagine just getting at iPad at that point would make more sense? all input welcome, luking stuff already talked about in this thread also welcome. tia.

I generally avoid anything apple because it seems like you need to go all apple or no apple.  that's probably dumb, but apple is such a closed system and itunes reliant that it seems like it makes more sense to go all in (iphone, ipad, itunes) or avoid it altogether.  I'm pretty much in a committed relationship with google at this point and the nexus 10 has some good initial reviews.  :dunno:

then I would just go ipad. all the reviews seem to indicate that it's where the iphone was a few years ago in relation to tablet competition...no legitimate competitors.

Stick with the N7 if traveling. 10" is pretty cumbersome. The N7 is a really good tablet.

yup, the n7 is really good if you're too poor to buy an apple ipad.  t's & p's.

i think the regular ipad is better than the mini for travel.   it's small enough to fit in any bag and large enough to watch video content on.  i would get angry trying to watch video on a mini.  love ipad, very great for non-poors who travel.

I have never really heard anything bad about the Fire/Fire HD.  Have only looked into it a little, but may be pulling the trigger on this one myself.

Anyone with any input on that one?
