Angel is leaving, why would he stay.  He has no reason to announce it until Art finds him a place to go.

Doesn't Angel have to announce before he leaves?  Otherwise there would be tampering issues.

He has an opportunity to be a four-year starter at a non-sucky high major program.

The writing was on the wall when the #teamangel spreadshirts (and every other EMAW shirt ordered in the last couple months) arrived with blue font instead of purple.  _FAN?!?

I know.  It's on all of your shirts, not just the angels.  They tried to tell me I was color-blind or something and I had to send them pictures of past shirts compared to the current ones.

That's really strange, their purple has been really good in the past.

Angel very well may transfer.

But what are the rules on talking to other programs?  And why is he continuing to attend practice with the team?

If he just quit the team tomorrow, could he begin communicating with other teams?  Or, is he locked into his scholarship until the end of the '11-'12 school year, prohibiting any communication with other schools?

Have no idea how this crap works.  Am I supposed to be encouraged by the fact that he's still attending practice instead of quitting outright.

Pretty sure he would still be locked in and would have to request, then be granted, a release.

I just realized one of the things that makes Weber look so strange to me. He has tiny, tiny teeth. Like he still has his baby teeth.

I dunno.  Ziegler quit after the season and transfered to Pitt.

BTW, Angel would be a complete Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) to quit before the all expense paid trip to Brazil this summer.  If I were gonna transfer, I'd at least get a free trip out of KSU before moving on.

wouldn't the summer Brazil trip be considered part of the 12-13 season?

I don't know.  Probably.  I doubt former players could participate.  You'd have to be a scholarship athlete for '12-'13 I suppose.

Shot in the dark, but I say he's going to play this year and transfer the next. Just a hunch.

Best of both worlds though - we get to see ART play for the cats one more season, totally piss off oscar, give #teamhorns more reason to hate oscar, and yet don't have to see ART's spirit totally crushed as he chooses somewhere else for his final 2 years.

This sounds effing horrible. We need him all 4.

If he sticks around, Snacks will win him over.

Pretty good read from Snow about the effect of AAU coaches in the recruiting process.

There's nothing specifically or directly relating to KSU mentioned and if you're not really concerned about the national scene, you can pretty much DNR it, but I thought it was pretty interesting.

And FWIW, I'm halfway through the book referenced, "Play Their Hearts Out", and I think it's really good. I highly recommend it if you are just a fan of hoops in general.

Gonzaga has sent ex-Blanchard star Ryan Spangler's transfer papers to 5 schools: Tulsa, ORU, OU, K-State, Arkansas. bit.ly/IugSEk

FWIW, Spangler is visiting OU this weekend.

I would assume that we'd have a fighting chance in this group.

When was the last time we won a PG/SG recruiting war against Mike Anderson?  Answer: Never Infinity.
