I think it's fair to say that Moose never would have been any good here, anyway. Ice cream is the last thing that guy needs if he's ever going to be good at the college level.

I am worried what free flowing ice cream will do to Gip.   :ohno:

Gip is not nearly as fat as he looks under his jersey. The man is built. I bet he doesn't even like ice cream.

I hope Moose not coming was a Moose decision and not getting us off on the wrong foot with MOKAN

Yeah, I thought I read somewhere that Underwood was sorta the orchestrator of that Litho/MOKAN pipeline(maybe it was from Bossi). Hope that's it more than anything.

I think if we make nicey nice with Will and Nino, and the guys court Suther (I think that's his name...) during the recruitment of Semi, we will probably be in pretty good shape.

I have no insight into this, but if we're honest with MoKan and tell them that we don't think Moose will fit into our plans and he'd be better off going somewhere else before he spends four years riding the bench, they would be okay with that.  At least we were being honest and not forcing him to sit out a year after transferring (which I figure would be worse than us steering him somewhere else before that happened).

as long as ku & pnr are joined at the hip, mokan sorta needs kstate as much as kstate needs mokan.  plus mu's mokan guy went to illinois.

This guys is a possiblity.  He was formerly a Creighton committ, then and Illinios commit.  Was just granted release from Illinios.  Pretty underwhelming compared to Josh Gray, but he's going to be mentioned with us.  Good relationship with both Weber and Howard.

Joe Henricksen ? @joehoopsreport Close
Crete Monee's Michael Orris granted his release from Illinois .... Don't be surprised if the 2012 PG ends up at Kansas State

I would rather have Gray, but if Angel stays Orris would be a good back up and as a senior would probably be pretty serviceable.

Would much rather have Gray, but would not be upset with getting Orris.

Yeah, I just hope it's not to fill Angel's spot.  Seems decent, but not an impact player at the high major level.

In reality, how many guys are impact guys at the high major level? As a freshman Beasley and Walker were, but it took Pullen 2.5 years to really come out of his shell.

Beasley and Walker were dominant players as freshman, Pullen and Angel were absolutely impact players as freshman, especially at a position as important as point guard

Perhaps the most telling thing about the Michael Orris interest is what it says about a certain assistant coach...

On Jerrance:

"Having him stay there is immense," Orris said. "It would be awesome because it's someone who believes in me, believes in my talents and believes I can do big things at the University of Illinois. To have him there is another person in my corner, which is great."

If Jerrance was going to Memphis, this kid would probably go to Memphis.

Yeah, I like where you're going with this...

You think Jerrance is simply negotiating the buy-out with Illinois?  What's the hold up with his hiring at this point if he's joining Weber's staff?

On the subject of 'goners':

Robert Upshaw will decide Sunday where he's going to play. I'd like to thank the vortex of idiocy - John Currie, his enforcement department, and the FP/TC's on the roster - that it took to remove Upshaw from coming to KSU.

I last saw Upshaw after SJMHS won the sectional at Selland Arena here in Fresno. After watching about 14 of his games this season and having some fun with him, the first thing he said to me after stepping off the podium after being named the MOP of the sction:

"EMAW baby! Every Man A Wildcat"! He was wearing the purple UnderArmor high tops too.

eff you John Currie.

I don't know. Haven't been able to talk to him since the HS season ended.

Yeah, casey gave him a call to see if we could keep him.  Prob actually to tell him we wouldn't be buying his parent's house or giving his mom all that money anymore..  Either way, it sounds like a pretty half assed attempt.

If Orris is looking here, then you have to think Howard will probably be here, right?
