We see some reference to our post on Top 25 KC kids playing in college. In defense of Wildcats, they have definitely made KC a priority and are working to sign kids from the area. Spradling and Nino Williams are both on our list and word is that Willie Reed is a target - http://kcprephoops.wordpress.com/2010/08/28/the-top-25-kansas-city-players-now-making-an-impact-in-college/

:surprised:

We're really glad you're here, man.

Thought the Reed ship had sailed?   :dunno:

Garrett Stutz isn't even a good player on a mid-major.  Rusty's disdain was warranted.

Probably a fair assessment.  I don't we recruited JHR to be much more of a player than he has been though.

i can't recall if anyone has mentioned the smart/forte package deal talk here or not.  if not, some people have talked up that smart may have an interest in matriculating to the same school as hs & aau teammate phil forte.  osu is currently recruiting both, most high-majors aren't.

at any rate, if it matters, forte was born in wichita.  his father (and smart's coach) is from kc.

Cauley update from Scout, never realized academics were a concern for him, but it sounds like it's under control for now:

“We’ve really tried to shelter him from a lot of the recruiting stuff,” explained Suther. “The reason he moved here was to focus on his academics. He is hearing from Oklahoma State, Kansas, Kansas State, Oregon, New Mexico, Arizona, Missouri, Iowa State, Wake Forest, we are hearing from a ton of schools and basically all the Big XII.”

If academics are concerned, I'm sure he's off to KU for the Brandon Rush and Morris twin treatment.
