I don't think it's even arguable that basketball is 3rd. What a stupid job for Frank to take.

Beyond playing third fiddle at SoCar, Frank's biggest problem now is that he's working for an AD that didn't hire him, and is obviously growing tired of running interference for his unacceptable behavior.  Which of course, follows the same pattern that plagued Frank at K-State before he cut and ran.

At some point, the dude is going to have to show some maturity and get his abusive behavior under control or this situation is going end as poorly as the last.  Unfortunately for Frank, his lunatic antics act is no longer a cute sideshow that the media is laughing at anymore.  He's now being portrayed as the abusive bully and is facing a much bigger image problem when he burns all the bridges at this job and decides to run off to the next.

Frank was mellowing out the last season and a half here. He still had his moments, but K-State was good for him and kept him leveled. Unfortunately South Carolina is such a shitty, racist state he was bound to get worse again. Sad, really.

As for Frank I'm not sure he's capable of cleaning this up until he has some very serious consequences for his behavior. I don't think he will get fired from USC for performance, they are absolutely getting better. I'm afraid this situation, caused by his demeanor, is untenable. If he doesn't change quickly he will be an assistant for the '15-'16 season. This continual focus on his demeanor, that he has created, is unfortunate because he's a very good basketball coach.

The white haired guy is a wuss.  Everyone I've talked to that have met Frank said he's one of the nicest people you'll ever meet, which I totally did not expect.

Had a chance to listen to him speak and sit at a table with him during dinner and he is incredibly nice and down to earth.  He is very passionate but, beyond body size, is not an intimidating individual.  It's too bad that people only see his court antics and make judgements about his life.

Nobody would care that much about the swearing.   Where most people have the problem is the reality that Frank gets personal. 

Hardly anyone would give a second thought if Frank told the kid that his play on the court was a giant pile of mother effing dog poop.  But when he stands there and goes into his personalized, pissed off abusive tyrant shtick he's gonna get called on it.

On paper SoCar basketball is absolutely not getting better.  In fact, you could easily argue that they've regressed in Frank's second year.  I mean this team is as bad as or worse than any team in the 5 years before Frank arrived.  And the SEC is weaker than it was in those 5 years.

Horn was the coach for 4 years before he got canned.  He won a Division Title and NIT in year 1.  He was fired after 3 straight subsequent losing seasons, combined 39-43 (13-35). 

If they apply the Darrin Horn standard of success to Frank, another losing season in 14-15 will cost Frank his job.

He pointed out that Bill called guys "blankety blanks" at practice, and not simply using curse words, but calling kids names using curse words.

However, King pointed out that Bill limits his vulgarity to practice.

with frank it isn't that he does things, it's how he does them that is the underlying issue and i believe that few coaches reach his level of whatever you want to call it.

I agree that he should be fired if he doesn't have a good season next year
