send them an email telling them you want the new better bonus applied. if you just got it recently they will probably give it to you. they have a message thing on their website.

I will try this.  Just got my card last week
They never answered...

they will. did you send it correctly? did you get an automated response that they received it? sometimes it takes a day or two longer than they tell you it will to get back to you but they always do.

Just a bit of a delay.

Thank you for contacting Chase regarding your Sapphire
Preferred account ending in xxxx.

I regret that we are unable to upgrade or apply the 50,000
bonus points offer to your existing account. This offer
was for accounts with an annual fee of $125.00. Upon
review, I see that your account ending in xxxx has an
annual fee of $95.00. I apologize for any inconvenience
this may cause.

Although we appreciate your loyalty, we ask that you trust
that this decision is the same for all members. We feel
that adhering to the same policy for all members is the
best way to remain fair and consistent.

On the other hand, I understand that you are interested in
the 5,000 bonus points offer after adding the first
authorized user to your account. Please respond with the
name of the person you would like to add on the account as
Authorized user and we will be happy to apply the 5,000
points to the account.

I got the same response, but I figured it was a long shot since I got the card in April.

Don't forget to signup for Small Business Saturday, https://www.americanexpress.com/us/small-business/Shop-Small/. Only a $10 credit this year opposed to $25.

No worries, I didnt try very hard to persuade them.  I dont know of it wouldve worked.  But between signup spending bonus, add authorized user and a large dining purchase, ill have about 52k ur.  So roughly 40k more is what im shooting for.  By end of april.

Do they have to be UR points? Seems like you'd be better off chasing a different bonus or two for whatever it is you're trying to book.  40k is a lot of points without a bonus.

is that their shopping portal? I usually use the UR portal. But, this is really nice. Just put in the store name and it will pop up the various portal bonuses. UR is usually the best imo.

Yes it is (formally E-Store).  I just bought a new range at Home Depot and received double Avios points.  A lot of the shopping ratios are 2/1 or 4/1 but they have a few that are 12/1.  I'm guessing since I used my BA card I will receive triple points?

This is how I will be shopping from now on.

Protip: URs are transferable to BA and the UR shopping portal will usually get you a higher return (and you can choose between multiple transfer partners). Do you have access to the UR portal?

I haven't seen that offer available since I've started this whole thing, otherwise yeah, it'd be a no brainer

*edit* and after doing some research, it appears I need to transfer UR rewards over to United to get this because it only shows a 30k offer for me

Do some searching on flyer talk for how to get the 50k. I was only getting 30k offers but was able to do the 50k with their trick.

I didn't have any United miles on my account.  I'll just switch over some UR to united and see if that works.  I tried the trick and I could never get it to work, but it sounds like you have to have at least 1 miles in your account.

so my bill for my SW card is due on the 27th of this month. this will give me the 50K bonus i signed up for but i dont want the points to go into my account then because i want to try for the companion pass. can i call chase and ask them to move my payment date a few days back? will it take a few days to get the points into my RR account to the point where SW will only see them go in after january 1?

no you can't move the statement date at this point.  I would imagine the points won't show up for a few days after the statement due date tho, so if you're lucky you'll get them in january.

your points will post to your account shortly after your closing date.  if your bill is due on the 27th, your statement should've already closed by now and if you hit the $2,000 minimum on this statement, the points will likely post to your account in a few days.  you may be screwed.  :frown:

Sort of like Wallaby, except no annual fee.  And it doesn't pick the card for you, but you should be smart enough to do it yourself.

Want, obviously.
