I have one. Adds up fast. Also gets you unlimited free shipping on target website. Good to have if you shop there a lot.

This is what I was thinking. I have a million hotel points, some Chase points, and I don't travel much outside of work. Seems like 5% is best deal since that is where we shop most.

Just got my SW card in the mail and they put Gooch's RR number on it so I think that means my points can go to his account. We should get to the 110K points very soon.

Did everyone do the Gold Amex? It's a really great deal. Essentially 75k BA miles for 1k spend in the first 3 months and no fee the first year. triple points on airfare plus double points on gas/groceries. It's 50k but BA runs a 50% transfer bonus a few times a year. mrs. dave and I each got it. I've had it before but the restriction was only if you've had it in the last 12 months.

Also, just found out Marriott lowered their lifetime status requirements. They completely removed the 12 year requirement and lowered Platinum from 1000 to 750 nights.

I just got done with a big round of apps, so I was gonna pass on this one, but you convinced me. just got approved

but now I have $14k to spend over 6 different cards in the next 3-4 months.

Gonna have 3 big carriers plus SW left. Frontier, Allegient, Jet Blue, etc. are going to be a very small niche. Continental and US Airways are probably the last major airlines to fall. I doubt any more major consolidation could be approved.

If you haven't seen it both 50k SW personal cards are back. So there are 2 different personal and 2 business cards. if you were uncomfortable signing up for a biz card to get the companion pass you no longer have to. or you can get 200k+ sw miles and the companion pass and you and the spouse/gf/bud can take 8-12 RT domestic flights together for free in the next 1.8 years
