goEMAW insider drops mhk four points sheraton knowledge...

We will be converting to a Four Points by Sheraton - but we are looking at closer to January 2013 - due to the level of construction that we are doing to the property. I actually met with some Starwood people today and they tell me that we will probably be a 2 or 3 but that will not be determined until we get closer to our opening. If you want to check back with me as we get closer to the end of the year - we should have an exact answer for you.

yeah. there is a definite line in the sand between those two. 3 and 4 or 1 and 2, not so much.

Just canceled my chase sapphire preferred, after I cancel a card I usually throw it in my shredder, tried to do it with the sapphire, not happening.

Shredder: 0
Chase sapphire preferred: 1

Which brings up the question, what us the proper method of disposal of the Chase Sapphire Preferred? I'll be canceling mine or my wife's soon. How do I keep it out of the hands of criminals?

Just got a 70k offer from Marriott. The best I have ever gotten from them and I get at least 184 offers a month from them since I stay there a lot. Not much else going on in credit card land so I figure I will take it. Almost to a million!!!

Just realized that the little voucher thing I got from Hyatt Platinum for 1000 points if you eat lunch or dinner at a hotel restaurant expired 6/30. Trying to decide between attempting to sneak it past them and go to the local Hyatt restaurant for lunch today or saving it for chicago and attempting to use it 2 months overdue for the other option of a couple free beers and a cookie or something when I check in.

that sucks. i used ours for a deligtful fruit assortment and later wished like hell that I had used it for the points because mrs. dave ate, like, one piece of fruit and the rest just rotted there in the bowl. we may get the option of choosing, like, 4 of those things in Chicago already since I booked all the rooms using my diamond suite upgrade things. we'll be knee deep in fruit bowls.

Waiting on Hyatt til I get within the year I will use the 2 nights. Waiting on Southwest til the beginning of next year so I will get enough for the companion that will essentially last for 2 years.

Anything I'm missing?

Can I just have my wife sign up for that and use the same marriott rewards #? Or should she get a different number?
