daraius seems very likeable.  like, he probably gets cards for his co-workers on their birthdays and everyone at the office is his friend.  would love to travel and party (as friends ONLY) with brian.  he seems like he would have better adventures.

Did I miss something or did Hilton's reward redemptions just get much better?  Every decent hotel in NYC was 50k last week and they are all between 34k and 42.5k now...is there some special going on that I missed or is this some amazing point improvement thing?

nvm, it reduced rates for status award bookings if you book 4 nights or more.  pretty great though.

Need to get First card, applied for the Southwest card right out of college a couple of years ago and was denied for no credit history, looking to get a card now. Have had utilities and cable etc in my name but I'm thinking that doesnt do much to build credit history. Any idea's on a good starter card?

no idea about starter card.  the 30k SPG offer is back though.  that and the 50k sapphire are the best everyday usage cards imo.  they are the two I use anyway.  you should apply for one or both and see what happens.  both have an annual fee that is waived the first  year so you can cancel after a year if you don't want to pay it or just keep one.  the sapphire has no fees for using it out of the country so if you are going to travel it's probably the better bet of the two.  also, the SPG is an amex and some places still don't take amex.

I'm guessing the second option.  southwest does the same thing.  maybe I'm just guessing the second option because I love free money and am blind to the possibility that I don't have an endless supply of it.

I was under the impression that they do not expire... but sd or rd prolly know for sure.

Well, looks like I am going to try to cash in my BA rewards by flying 11 people round trip to the Cotton bowl.  Seems like that would make the CC plenty worth it and I don't imagine I will have to pay for a beer the whole time I'm down there.
