Any thoughts on the best American Airlines card to get?  I haven't flown American in years, and have zero status with them right now.  So, I'd prefer a card that helps me get status fast, if that's possible.

if you are going to spend $40k on it in a calendar year this one will help get status. also has priority boarding and check in lines, free bags, admirals club access. tsa pre or global entry reimbursement. $450 annual fee tho.

That looks like it's just the having multiple accounts at once that's dead, and maybe only in Canada anyway.

I'll cancel when I have a few months of knowing I wouldn't be flying Alaska and apply for another one after 90 days.

what is your business, what do you do, etc. one thing to keep in mind when making this call is you're dealing with a call center kid who's checking boxes and even the reconsideration line is the senior call center kids. you're not actually talking to a banker or anyone who knows what they're doing outside of a script.

I just saw I got the miles really quick but it might be a month or 2 before the $100 statement credit shows up.  I'd at least wait for that to happen if I was you.
