hey have we discussed American Express, i bet we have!

is it not accepted in a bunch of places? i'm only going to do the 3k spend to get 60,000 bonus HHonors points and then basically use it for my work Hilton stays. just wondering what to expect if i use it for daily spending for a couple months.

I just finished a delta sky miles ae spend.  Never had any issues.  Bonus is that it's the only card accepted by Costco.

My corporate card is AmEx. I only have issues at small restaurants. They don't like to pop for AmEx fees.

Yeah, most corporate cards are Amex. Rarely run into problems.

i find mastercard is not accepted at more places than amex is. i like amex's site, too. second to only chase.

I find that mastercard has never not been accepted anywhere I have traveled except for taxis in foreign countries where they act like the don't speak English and then try to make you pay cash with the shoulder shrug when they swipe your card incorrectly 10 times in a row.

gess Chase has added verbage to their T&Cs allowing them to deny points for accounts they deem made just to earn rewards and churn, so uh, be careful.

was in a SPG property the last five nights and did the no room turnover option. just called them and told them to bring me coffee and 2 bottles of water for each day of the week and they did. got an additional 2k SPG points. pretty easy.

it's basically just a cash back card but the cash can only be used on travel. it's worth exactly $400 in travel. you charge the travel on the card and then mark it on the website and it refunds the charge with your points. I got it when it was 100k points and got $1k in travel spend refunded and then cancelled the living crap out of it.

but, it would be a good option for someone who hates redeeming points and the restrictions and rules and whatnot involved.

yeah, me too. but a lot of people hate that part or are very lazy. I'm normally very lazy but when it comes to the points game I'm the hardest worker in the biz.

a while back i went miles and points crazy talking to my sister and her husband and they actually followed through somewhat and ened up getting sapphire for 50k. six months went by and i'm all

"well, where are you guys going to go?"
"do you need help decided what program to transfer them in."
"what's the deal?"
"oh, you just turned your sapphire points in for cash? you don't say."

I've never had any other ID theft stuff but for my sapphire card getting f'd with for the 2nd time now.  New one probably won't be here in time to run up a big bar tab on Saturday.  WTF is their problem?  They need to give out 50K bonuses on replacement cards.

In updating my new card info to the necessary places, I've got a suspicion maybe uber is the leak.

I have my credit card registered directly through uber.  Maybe that's my problem.

it's a good card, but 40k is kinda marginal.  i've kept mine, they waive the fee easily and it gives my credit limit a nice bump.

i used to put a fair amount of spend on it for the 2% cash.  last year or two i've had better values on most spend (figured out portals) and have also kept a more aggressive churn that has cut into my free spend.  but it's a solid little card.

10 business days passed and still no word from Chase Ink Plus.  Called and they said it's still pending.
