so my Hawaii trip can't happen when we wanted it to but I'm kind of thinking about spending 4 nights at the nicest Hyatt in Paris and just going to rough ridin' Cabo for a beach trip.

The best way to do it is find saver space on AA then call BA. Anything you find will be book able.

yes. also sometimes you have to go forward a couple of days and then back for available flights to show up on BA. also, the AA supersaver flights are all T codes. if you want to sound super airporty insidery then just say there is a T code flight that shows up on AA.com that doesn't show up on their flight and then tell them to wave the fee.

I'm not going to sugarcoat this, your kids (and you) will like Kauai about a million times more than cabo. Paris can still be done.

It's nice, but being nice isn't what's great. For a family of four like some family's of four I know it may be the greatest home base for the most elite tropical vacation I could ever imagine. Like, I'm pretty much planning the next 10'ish years of my life to acquire the two children necessary to make this happen every year from then on. Amazing beach and hike right outside the resort, amazing regular and saltwater pools, cannot be crowded because of the setup, amazing locale, it checks every box except being close.

Also, you live as close to Kauai as you do cabo. Just go to Kauai. We'll get you free nights in Paris in this thread no prob anyway.

Cabo is like half as far and can book with far less notice. (this is why kauai was postponed)
