didn't hear the segment, but i kind of agree with the idea. royals fans love to lol @ his Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) lineups and dumbass late inning decisions (for good reason). but they all just want to assume that the successful aspects of the team have nothing to do with him. i mean i have no idea who really deserves the credit, but they have the league's best era, and they sure as hell don't have the league's best pitching resources. shields is the only starter that any other mlb team even wanted before the season started, and the bullpen is all low budget homegrown arms and guys that have failed in other roles. also league's best defense, etc. play hard, etc.
it's possible that none of that has anything to do with yost. but it's also entirely possible that he has something to do with it.
