I agree with you, and after the season I will probably take some solace in that. But when you are this close, it absolutely sucks. I don't want to think about next September. I want to think about next week.

Why does he do this to us?  I can begin to agree that he might have been the right guy to manage the team as the young guys transitioned into winning players and a winning team, but his lack of sense with is in-game decisions is far more important than that now that winning individual games has become the most important thing for this team. 

There is no way he is here next summer.

The Guthrie game was on Ned, but no matter where he turned, relievers were uncharacteristically giving up runs tonight.
Will Smith has been absolutely dominant, and he walked the bases loaded. Hoche has been absolutely dominant, and he gave up a monster jack over the Cleveland bullpen.

He still put in Herrera and all the momentum the Royals had completely evaporated when he gave up 2 runs. Granted, any of the relievers could've done the same, but I think most Royals fans would agree that Herrera is the guy they trust the least with an enormous game on the line. I'm not sure why Ned didn't agree with that.

It was a disaster. Anyone in the bullpen was better than Herrara right there. Leave Coleman in, bring in Crow, bring in Hoch then instead of the 9th, bring in freaking Mendoza.

Oh, and exactly how does Guthrie get the game to the bullpen in the ninth where it's tied so he can get a win? Once the bullpen enters the game and the score is tied, Guthrie can't get the win. Is it possible our favorite clandestine Starbucks customer is so undercover he doesn't understand how the irrelevant pitcher win works?

This guy isn't as smart as he'd like us to believe. Having a spreadsheet doesn't make you smart.
If the visiting team gets a lead in the top of the 9th, and bring in a closer for the bottom, they'll usually give the win to the guy who pitched the 8th. That was Ned's plan
