Texas, Cleveland, Oakland all won today.  New York beat Detroit but would rather just have the Yankees lose and stay out of it.  Baltimore is losing to San Francisco early.  Tampa has to face a red-hot Dodgers team.

everyone is better than johnson & getz.  hell, getz is probably better than johnson & getz.  is carroll better than gio (for 15 days)?  is 2nd base really that hard to play?  could they just stick lough or dyson there (for 15 days)?

btw, i'd like to see d. matthews as a manager (not in kc).

- "lets go out there and keep it under two hours today, boys." 


- "big win today, denny, how'd it look from the dugout?"

- "well we went a little long, but when you've got guys thowing balls, and other guys taking pitches, that"ll happen.  we'll work on it and see if we can shorten the game for the fans tomorrow."
