moose also has upside. i think it's already become much, much less likely that he'll ever turn into a significantly better than average third baseman. but i think it's still fairly probable that he could still become an average or just slightly below average everyday player. that still has a fair amount of value. getz has no upside and no value.
He's already average defensively, and has shown better range than all but Longoria and Machado. Despite the slow start I think he could pull off an "average" season this year. He's been an above average performer at the plate for the last month or so. His plate discipline has improved throughout the season and he is finally starting to his line drives.
He can still be a good player and a borderline All-Star imo.
He's only 24. Gordon wasn't exactly lighting it up early in his career either.
He'll never be great unless he can walk a lot more though. Like, 8 or 9 percent of the time.
