2 questions:
1. Would the royals ever hire rany?
2. Would rany ever work for the royals?
My answers:
1. It would take a GM change and maybe a ownership change before the royals made an offer to rany
2. Every little boy wants to be a professional athlete when he grows up, if he can't be an athlete the next best thing is working for a sports team, especially his favorite childhood sports team. Rany's got a good thing going; writing for grantland, doing some podcasts, being a dr., and owning baseball prospectus and all (this could be a whole thread in itself, but how rough ridin' studly is rany, the guy is a Dr. and a sports writer and a stats super geek

), but I just feel like if the royals made the right offer and let him have some flexibility as far as where he worked and stuff he would do it. What could be better than being a significant part of helping your favorite childhood team become successful after years of sucking?
