A dream week would have us taking 3 of 4 from Twins and having this....
KC 6-1
Minn 2-5
LAA 3-3
Balt 2-4
Sea 3-3 or 2-4

Angels went 3-3
Marniers went 2-4
O's are 1-4 play 2night
* Twins go 2-5
* Royals go 5-2
Rays & Rangers were only 3-3 as well

* If we didn't blow it Thursday. To 2nd the twitter  quote by Rany today, " If Gordon had just called for a pop fly Thursday, Royals would be tied in loss column with the WC2 team"

Who was the only player associated with both of runs they scored that day, PP?

Almost every player on this team has done more with RBIs, hits and extra base hits than him.  We all know there has been very few games where he has helped us win a game offensively. Our top 6 hitters and Moss have way more.

Gordo value is his D. Everyone is aware of this.  It's inexcusable for any LF, but especially a 4time GG one not to make the play in question.  That play had nothing to do with " could Esky have gotten to the ball and made the play", it's "Could Gordo have gotten to the ball and made the play". The answer is an obvious Yes.

Gordo and Cain will call off Esky when Esky is not even moving and set up under the ball in shallow outfield . Why, because it's an easier catch for the OF.  Why Gordo chose not to take the ball this time is anyone's guess. He said in postgame he should have taken it. A play he does all the time, but failed to on Thursday led to 3 runs, and a 2 game swing in the standings.

No doubt. My only point was in that same game, the Royals only had a lead because of Alex.

Just a sliver of hope for WC2 left.  I think I'll cling tightly too it.

Yes. The Esky double, Gordo RBI single, Whit RBI single would have been the runs in a 2-1 win. It would have been great, cause not only is it hard to win 2-1 games, but having the #8 and #9 guys be 2 of the 3 that keyed the 2 run inning.

Guess you're still not holding the subsequent poor pitching partially responsible, PP? Yes, Alex botched the play. But the pitching failed to pick him up. Can't blame Alex for the pitching failure after his misplay.

So Kennedy is skipping his start on Wednesday with shoulder fatigue.  Apparently Skoglund is the likely candidate to start.

His last 5 Appearances: 50 batters faced. 21 hits 9 walks, 20 hitters retired, 1450 OPS allowed.

option B = Garcia, Machado and Cahill (in the last month) have allowed 43 hits/walks & 42 hitters retired

I'd rather DFA Cahill or Garcia and just sign someone who got DFAed by another team.

When Royals pitching & defense look like crap.... :flush:

In the Royals last 40 games, our Opponent has only been held to under 4 runs 8 times. 5 of 8 times Junis was the starter (Duffy Hammel Vargy all once)

So 80% of the time we have given up 4+ (32 of 40)
It was 53% on the year before this pittyful stretch.

And KC is 47-10 when our Opp doesn't score 4+.
24-62 when they do.

Don't quite follow the connection between Melky and our poor pitching.
