if anybody ever says our pitching is the problem then you know that person is a dumb person
Our lack of scoring runs on the road is the main problem
But that does not meen starting pitching isn't an issue. We are 24th in Starters ERA, giving up the most HRs (71) in the 4th fewest innings pitched. We allow a HR every 5.1 Inning
Since May 8th, our starters on the road have allowed 78 ER and 35 HRs in 115.2 Innings
That's a 6.07 ERA, giving up a HR every 3.1 Inning.
Powercat Posse, if you told me the royals starting pitchers would double the record for the most home runs given up in a season, and the royals would still finish the season giving up the 2nd fewest runs in the AL, i would be like, 10 year old on christmas morning happy about that.
Powercat Posse, if you told me that the royals batters would double the record for the most home runs hit in a single season, but they would still finish 3rd to last in the AL in runs scored, i would be like, 10 year old whose dog just died sad about that.
I understand what you are trying to point out. But that doesn't change the fact our starters have been very dissapointing. Forget the HRs, the ERA is flat out bad.
Cleveland is the clear #1 in runs allowed per game (3.83). However there are 6 teams between 4.13-4.28 (KC is now 4.19).
I don't care how we win the Central or make the playoffs, but scoring 3.18 runs on the road, and having starting pitching give up a 27th ranked 4.97 ERA isn't gonna help our chances
