What does this do to his arbitration status?

the royals won't arb with him.  so either he'll sign a multiyear deal with someone as free agent this winter, or he'll sit next year out with no contract and sign a free agent deal starting in 2017.

I feel bad for being shitty to him ITT now.  Do teams just kind of make guys play through physical stuff like this?

the royals didn't make him, he wanted to.  if you listened to the podcast that c43 linked up for everyone, andy estimated that 15% of pitchers have some degree of ligament tears.  actually, the pitcher they're playing tonight, mr. santana, was given as an example of a guy who is currently pitching with a torn ulnar lig.

so he basically knew his arm would fall off and pitched anyway, i guess this is one of those baseball things i will never get.

the alternative would be to have had the surgery after the ws.  then he would have missed this year, which means the royals would have not arbed him.  which means he wouldn't have made 8 million dollars this year.  but he could have gotten to free agency earlier and been back on the market a year younger.

at any rate, he was going to have to have the surgery.  either sooner or later.  pitching this year didn't really change that.

a new rule i have for playoff lineups is that esky can't bat behind dyson.

Took the week off from here.... getting recharged for playoffs.

Offensive woes continue tonight. 8 plate appearances W/RISP.... 1 sac bunt 7 outs.

82-51 record.... KC only scored 0-2 runs 28.6%
On our 8-16 Sept slump.... 45.8%
FYI....it's hard to win scoring 1-2 runs.

if you took out volqy and put in chris young as the 4th guy in the rotation for the ALDS I wouldn't get mad about it.

Fair enough. If we want to win in playoffs, we must be more consistent getting points. 11,2,2 might ave out to be 5.0 pts but it likely means 1-2 in the record department.

When we were 82-51, we were 78-17 if we just scored 3 pts . That's 82% win rate.
We just can't not get 3+ Pts in nearly 50% of games.
