one problem with hdmd is that h and d can pitch multiple innings, but m and d can only go one.  would kinda suck to burn your multiple innings guys and then it's overtime and you're out of your best relievers.  but that's where big chris youngsie steps in, so i'm sticking with hdmd.

CF3, gun to your head what does Neds ALDS playoff roster look like?

what I think ned will do:

C
Butera
Sal

INF
Hos
Moose
Escobar
Zobrist
Colon
Morales

OF
Gordon
Cain
Rios
Dyson
Orlando

PR
Gore

SP
Cueto
Ventura
Volquez
Medlen

RP
Davis
Herrera
Madson
Duffy
Hoch
Young
Morales

That's my best guess right now. Young and Medlen will both be on the roster, not sure who will start. Maybe Gomes sneaks in, but I think they really like having Gore as a weapon, and I would be surprised if we keep 10 pitchers. I'd be fine with 10, but we'll keep 11. I think (just a guess) they like the flexability of having Orlando, because while he's not great at anything, if you put him in a game, he's fast and can play any outfield position. Gomes can only hit, and really only hit lefties.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

It was fun when 7-8-9 was automatic.

I'm glad we decided to win this game.  I don't really trust hoch any more.

Not sure yet

very unscientific, but I looked at some of the lefties we'll face in the playoffs. Gomes has bad stats vs. both Hamels and Price, though he does have a homer vs. Hamels.

Basically between Frank Morales/Gomes/Orlando/Gore there's 3 spots.

actually, i would just count the number of lefties in the 6th and 7th and allocate d and h accordingly.

so, texas will clinch in next series, almost certainly.  but they are playing laa, which is a potential wildcard team that is currently one back of houston.  by either unwritten or written rules, is texas allowed to play all their scrubs the day after clinching like the other division winners did and give laa an advantage in the wildcard race?

that's a pretty good advantage for laa, then.  because they'll probably also skip at least one of their better starters to set up the playoff rotation.

i don't care for this wade davis back thing.  he's had it for like three months now (too long).

Maybe the Chicago wind and cold stiffened him up?  That said, I, too, am a bit concerned. But it appears a day or two of rest and he's good to go--but those are days of rest which may be a luxury we can't afford in the postseason.
