TBT didn't post about what to do with his leftover bandwidth at the end of May, fwiw
Posse Stat of the night ....Jason Vargas, giving up 2 ERs or less yet again. In 41 starts as a Royal (counts postseason) he has given up 2 ERs or less in 27 of them. That is pretty impressive. Only 1 of them was a short outing (that 4.0 inning one where he was on a pitch count this year)For comparison =** Shields was known for throwing more innings, so I use 3 ERs or less for him. In 2013 and 2014 (postseason too), James had 56 of his 73 starts with 3 ERs or less. His ERA in those 56 starts was 2.05Vargas 27 of 41 starts(65.9%) with 2 ER or less. ERA 1.84 in those 27 starts (6.50 Inn per start)Shields 56 of 73 starts (76.7%) with 3 ER or less. ERA 2.05 in those 56 starts (6.90 Inn per start)Hey guys, Vargas is a pretty decent starting pitcher and has done a pretty good job for us since signing last year.

You guys, Kris Medlen and I almost have the same birthday. Regardless, should I be excited for him? Because riddle me this, does Ventura, Volquez, Medlen, Vargas, Guthrie get you excited? WHAT IF YOU THROW A HEALTHY DUFFY INTO THE MIX!?!?!!?
