he misplayed the only ball hit to him that wasn't a routine flyball.  he gets' the second shitty for it being an important time of the game.

i'm not even penalizing him for the possibility that orlando and dyson might have been able to cut that ball off at a single because they have the speed to position themselves closer to the line and still get to the gap.  but i think it's possible.

Dyson would have scored from second had we pinch run him.  #yosted

was just trying to figure out if yost mumped up there.  not really sure of the nl rules, but i think not, because hosmer already hit the prior inning.  so he was already used up and didn't enter the game defensively.

Seriously Salvy. Drawing a walk is not a crime. Swinging at a ball that hits in front of home plate on a 3-2 should be.

what a mismanaged and misgeneralmanaged joke.

Since Apr 29, Orlando was hitting .209, with an OBP of .221 and a SLUG of .284.   Him not playing today was not why we lost.  Give it a rest.  If you want to criticize Ned on a few in game decisions, I have no issue with that

We suck in Chicago after a rainout....

1) Lose 2 games vs Sox on that Sunday after a Sat rainout. 1 a walk off loss, the other because of 4 unearned runs. 2) today we lose in extra innings after a rainout on Saturday   :bang:

I have to wonder why not go HDH in the 7, 8, 9. I have to wonder why you go with Frasor. This was a frustrating L to take. I'm trying not to melt down, but it sucks being in 2nd place.

Ventura pitched a very good game, but as soon as he allowed a baserunner in the 7th he needed to be pulled. A very dumb loss.

I can understand on the road why he waits to bring in Holland to start an inning when it's tied. I didn't like seeing Frasor brought in with 2 on No out.  At that point, you have to strongly consider Holland.

Ventura gave up a run in the 7th, but then again Herrera gave up a run in 7th on Friday.

It was a cold windy day, but we got 4 freaking hits in 11 innings. Hard to win doing that

Good grief, sys is actually blaming the pitchers, or the way the pitchers were handled today??????? We gave up 2 runs in 11 innings.

Take out Gordon, and the team was 1-33 at the plate. How many perfect innings is this staff expected to throw?

Also, I freaking hate the national league rules. I thought Ned managed it fine today, but I just hate it. Its like little league, everyone's guaranteed to play at least 1 inning!

Putting Frasor in instead of Holland was so stupid. Use your best (Davis, but that's another story) reliever in the most important situation.

Unless Holland was unavailable?

Ned is never going to manage that way, and Davis was used in a pretty damn key situation, and he did great.
