In my mind's eye, I imagined us losing with Liam on the bump anyway. I think we get it tonight

Of the 4 games, I thought last night's was most likely to be a loss. I was more worried about last night that James vs the Tigers even.

The rest of the match-ups are good and hopefully the Royals got their error filled game out of the system. The next step is someone stepping up and getting some hits in key situations, or even better, a home run or two over the next few days.

Are we allowed to hit over the wall home runs?

Our usual 3-4-5 hitters have a combined 5 hits in the last week. Gordo needs to get his crap together, Billy needs to get in the lineup, and Sal needs to quit swinging at balls that hit 3 feet in front of the plate.  :shakesfist:

Winning the division to get Baltimore in the ALDS just became about a million times more important. Chris Davis is out through at least the first 8 games of the playoffs.

We have to face Chris Sale twice  :frown:

Josh Willingham is the more steady player for sure, but when nobody else is hitting he just doesn't make that much of a difference. Our offense needs a jolt, and there's nobody on the bench other than Billy who could possibly provide that. No guarantees that he will, but how bad would all of us feel if we missed the playoffs because Ned played it safe?

billy on the bench isn't necessarily playing it safe.  maybe ned's just giving billy a chance to save up a bunch more double plays to hit into.

They are in a 6 man rotation. If it keeps up he'd pitch 9/17 @KC and 9/23 @Detroit. I guess they could put him back in for the last day of the season against us though.  :frown:

I really doubt that Chris Sale plays the last game of the season. He's like their only good player, I would imagine the reward does not outweigh the risk in that scenario.

that would be v. interesting. Glass would offer Sale the rights to a neighborhood market or something to fake an injury

Only like a billion times, but Billy Chapel wasn't a total stud frontline starter, in his twenties, and under team control for the next five years either. Duh!

If the White Sox still had Adam Dunn around, I would say they should give the start to him. It would be Big Donkey's last game, and he deserves it. I'm not sure what they will do without him on the roster, though. I bet they pitch Sale.

I know. I've always wanted to throw that movie in here. Other than it being the last game, not a lot in common with this sitch. :)
