do relievers ever get thrown into the mix as main pitcher dudes when crap hits the fan?

Like move to starters instead of relief? Yes but usually not your 8th/9th inning guys. Teams really value the late innings role those guys play

As low as my confidence has been the last two days, I am fully confident in today's game. BGJ is going to deal and we are going to knock this Porcello joker around. :Boxing:

Pretty much exactly what happened.

yeah, that's what I meant.  the whole "play so many games it's your sixth best pitcher against the other teams fourth best pitcher" thing messes with me, but if that's how it's set up, that's how you play it

If Liam can find another win in his pocket tomorrow, then we should pitch in and buy him a fruit basket.

Road to 14 wins
@ Yankees -  2/3 - DONE
@ Detroit -  1/3 - DONE
Red Sox -  3/4
White Sox -  2/3
Detroit - 2/3
@ Indians -  1/3
@ Chicago -  3/4

FYI....and Detroit is ahead of schedule on their 9 losses (now only 7 losses needed)

6 losses needed from Detroit for this to work....things are coming together boys.

guys, as soon as it was a full count, i 100% knew that wade was going to strike him out on the next pitch and it was the best feeling you could ever imagine, and then he struck him out and i scream whispered something profane at my television.  it was a great moment.

God dammit that was fantastic. When BGJ was talking crap to the Tigers bench I was all  :Wha:

I love him

Soria pitching against the Royals makes me want to  :barf:
Yeah, we could probably use him in place of Frasor in some situations

Wade Davis was a starter last year, and sucked. Now he's a historically good reliever. Being a starter, going inning after inning, is v difficult. Its just a different mindset and role.

Yep, I was pretty undecided on "the trade" up until the last month and a half. But BFGJ being lights out in a pendent race and Wade being lights out in the bullpen makes me solidly happy with it no matter what the future holds

Does ten more win the division? I think we can take 5 of the next seven with ease.  Winning the series to finish the home stand against the tigers would be just fabulous.

Detroit's long home stand against puds is scary....Do you see 7 loses in their remaining schedule?
