KC has played 6 close games with Det this yr.... Five 1-run and One 2-run game.
In those gms, KC is 5-49 w/RISP. That's a .102 ave
Det only has 15 runs and 36 hits ( that's 2.5 runs and 6 hits on ave)
Det won 5 of the 6 games

If we fail to win the division, you can look at that info and see why.

Royals certainly fell off the cliff when that bag of crap Hosmer came back. I don't care if he has a gold glove, that guy is a FP, TC etc.

with hos on the dl the royals went 22-8

with him back in the club house the royals are 4-6, he hasnt produced and has just as many errors as billy did at first. im starting to think he is a clubhouse cancer

might be this. I believe he's going to somehow have a heroic moment each time he comes up to bat in a pressured situation but each time he just swings at awful pitches. I mean, how does he not know that he's going to get junk pitches falling down and away from him? He swings at the worst stuff. Hosmer's defensive lapses make it all that much worse.

Salvy doesn't deserve nearly the same criticism as Hosmer but his approach at the plate has been awful. He used to have an easy swing that made the most of what the pitcher gave him and would wait to really turn on a HR pitch. Now he's swinging 110% at everything and trying to pull it all. He's got to get his head straight.

It's not mathematically over if we lose tonight for the sweep, but we've got to right this ship.

if pitchers would learn(and they will) to not throw hos a first pitch strike he would be batting .100

he is a poor mans jeff franceour that happens to play first base

As low as my confidence has been the last two days, I am fully confident in today's game. BGJ is going to deal and we are going to knock this Porcello joker around. :Boxing:

mocat, I hope you are not being serious about Billy not swinging at bad pitches.  The game I was at, where we left 16 on base, he struct out I think 3 times, and at balls 10 feet in front of the base.

Speaking of runners LOB, anyone have a stat for who leads the league in that catagory?  I bet our Royals are sure the hell up there.

Shields pitching today? Great.......maybe he will hold them to like 1 or 2 runs, through like 8 innings or so. But, we will still have 0 runs scored. This offense is so Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) I can't stand it.  But thats ok, Ned likes small ball and thinks HR's are overrated, right? God, I hate Ned Yost......

We don't deserve to win anything if we can't score more than 2 freaking runs on a regular basis...... :bang:

People need to stop using the term "small ball" with ned. Does he like to run? Sure. He hardly ever bunts and puts hit and runs on at terrible times. Yesterday I think they had two on with no one out three times and yet not one bunt was put on.

The only reason that we are even competitive is our proficiency at scoring runners when they are on base.

This is by far the biggest cause of concern for this team, and it will never get fixed:

When one person, for whatever reason, has a chance to lead an exceptional life, he has no right to keep it to himself.
