And frankly Denny Matthews IS Royals baseball on the radio for me. He is all any Royals fan has ever known and I like that, plus even though he's really old, I haven't noticed any real change in his broadcast, its still classic Denny.

It will be really sad when he's gone.

THIS. I still remember falling asleep in the car to him calling games, when driving back from roadtrips as a kid. Every time I hear that voice it reminds me of childhood summertime good times.

One last thing about Denny. I'm sick of people trotting out the "Denny's been beat down by too much bad baseball" b.s. Screw that, I would wager he's is as excited as anyone about this run — probably more than most — because of the losing. Rah-Rah isn't his style, never has been and never will be.
