Guys, we all want a downtown stadium. Let's just talk baseball though while it matters. Lets have an in depth stadium discussion in January.

Mellinger is definitely a clown, but I don't think he's wrong here. You have to build up some equity with your fan base before you can start telling them they need to come to more games. Also, crowd size in baseball is virtually meaningless. If fans want to go because they think it would be fun, then great. We don't need 30,000 fans out there to win baseball games though.

Denny needs to retire.  that's awful.

Wrong. Elegant call. Let's the moment come through and doesn't make it about him.

I love when radio guys just let you listen to the crowd in huge moments like that rather than jizz all over themselves. It's baseball, not football, you don't have to go ape crap all the time.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Exactly.

And frankly Denny Matthews IS Royals baseball on the radio for me. He is all any Royals fan has ever known and I like that, plus even though he's really old, I haven't noticed any real change in his broadcast, its still classic Denny.

It will be really sad when he's gone.

I'll give Geary Co. a pass because of the Ft. Riley transplants, but Garden City needs to get its crap together.  :Ugh:

Anyone else notice the opposing pitcher laughing after the Gordo hit... kinda like "Oh Alex, I knew that was going to happen".

I think all of this "I can't believe we only had 13K fans last night" stuff from Ned is genius. It's completely taken away from the talking heads discussing him trotting out a very below average pitcher tonight vs the Twins' ace. That quote was very calculated.

yeah he could have easily trotted out a great pitcher tonight but eff him right in his old face for trotting out a very below average pitcher tonight
