did someone really just suggest dh'ing for a position player?

Yes, but he's a smart dude so I think (hope) he was kidding.

I have a tough time choosing him over Willingham or Billy but what he did last night was impressive. To me, it's just nice to have some guys like him on the bench...I don't expect to see him used all that frequently other than to spell Sal.

Agreed. It's nice to have bench options when needed.

Kratz is a nice back up. That's about it tho. You can't have him DH in front of Billy or Willingham. He could be a great Pinch hit choice tho, down the road.

hos won a gold glove but advanced defensive metrics have never liked him. and honestly, aside from billy's flubbed popup, i don't think i've seen him not make a single play that hos would have. 1st base is the position where you need defense the least.

play billy. sit hos on the damn bench.

I'm not even sure that Hos makes that catch.

i think we should move Billy to right field since Cain is slumping and put Kratz/Sal at first (whichever one isnt catching). then DH either Hos or Willingham.
I think what my friend Mitch is trying to say is that true love is blind.

Get this man a direct line to Ned. They'd be instant best friends!

Hosmer's stats since our little 21-5 stretch started: 1/12 with 2 RBI and 5 Ks.

In that same time Billy has increased his OPS by 50 points and hit 4 HRs and Aoki has increased his OPS by 29 points and has 28 hits. Also, WillingHAM has been mashing since he was called up to the bigs last week. Which of those guys do you want to take the bat away from so Hos can go 1/5 with 2 Ks?

If it's not broke, don't fix it.

Minnesota is basically a minor league team.

well, he got injured. i mean, he was on a 16 game hitting streak with 9 RBI and 2 HR when he got injured.

Good post, Phil.

You want to keep Ham in the lineup based on a week sample size? Okay.

Best players on the field is the mantra I hope Ned goes with. Don't force Hoz back and give him some DH time to get back into it but JFC.

but the Royals were losing then so we should definitely roll out a lineup of Kratz at C, Willingham at DH, Sal at 1, and Billy at RF
