:flush:
i didn't realize the passed ball/wild pitch was part of the correct course of the events.

the play was not as easy as you are making it sound.  50/50 at best.  the error was for allowing the second runner to score, not both.

I'm watching the replay as i type this.  Runner is 35-38 feet away when Salvy starts his flip ( you want me to text you the pic).  Salvy is 10 feet from Ace.  Good throw, he's out EASiLY

I know occasionally when a 1st baseman throws to a pitcher covering 1st, he throws it by the pitcher. That's pretty rare tho.

Royals have lived off of teams making bad mistakes at the K ( last night Paxton underhanding to 1st). The read by the dude at 3rd was not good.  He got lucky because we couldn't execute a 10 foot throw and tag.

This and the Omar error at Clev are 2 big time mistakes that cost us Wins.  Bad errors on easy plays

pitcher doesn't have to tag the runner at first.  the ball was going to be there before the runner, that's not the issue.  throw too high, runner slides under.  throw too low, pitcher can easily fail to catch or the runner knocks it loose in the slide.  don't lead the pitcher enough and he won't have time to apply the tag.  lead too much and the ball isn't caught (what actually happened).  a running player having to catch a ball thrown from one side of a base and apply a tag to a runner coming from the other is not an easy play, even with whatever lead-footed player the mariners had running.

Posse, you gotta realx

Oh, I know. I get much more agitated on Fri/Sat when I'm drinking and watching our Royals.  The next day I'm like...damn I was pissed last night.  It is what it is

I see with Gordo out they have Colon hitting 2nd.  I wouldn't mind seeing Paulo hit 2nd instead of CC.
1) Paulo hit .429 in 63 ABs in May. He hit .306 in first 85 ABs in June.  Then after having his first slump, 0-15, he has 4 hits the past 2 nights. 2) Paulo is hitting . 398 with Runners On and .417 with RISP.

Its ok Posse, I do that too, pretty much all the time. However I'm very sad to inform you that I have banned you posting stats about RISP for 1 month.

Good start boys. Giving Volqy a little cushion early on

That's why Volkie has a 5 ERA this year.
Fastball right over the plate to a HR hitter on a 0-2 count.

Yeah Seger  OPS was 1,042 vs RHP coming into today.

Thank you Sea for doing something stupid and getting us out of that 5th

In our last 2 game pod we average 3 more runs per game when Alex Gordon is not playing

Hope he gets better. That's about it because him being benched is highly unlikely.
