I'm ok with offering Gordon a more expensive contract than we ordinarily would, even if it only meant a few more great years from him, just to have him retire as a Royal. But it would still require Gordon to leave some money on the table, so I guess we'll see if he cares about retiring with the team where he won it all in a city that loves him.

I'd offer a similar size contract to Zobrist - I just don't think he's likely to take it.

I also think we need to pay Salvy.

Pitching is where we're going to have to continue to scavenge. We just don't have that kind of money to gamble on more proven commodities. It's worked so far.

It'd be awesome to keep our offense together for one more year and see what happens. Who's gonna be better in the AL Central next year? Make the playoffs again and anything can happen.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

from a statistical perspective, what catcher would be considered a peer of Sal and how much does that man make?

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

For me, its fun to think about the team next year! I like to savor this year and get pumped for 2016!

I mean I get that, you specifically are very analytical and I get that it's exciting because I want more baseball too but blog posts about how we are screwed after 2017...wtf people....we spent 30 years as fans wanting to taste the sweet nectar of a world championship....24 hours after the parade of finally doing it, we're already past it and worrying about future years? Screw that...this is still time to bask in the glow of highlights, and media appearances, and gear, and bragging, and high fiving. Hell my list of people I'm going to give massive champion hugs to is only half completed.

We know how hard it is to do this....let's not forget to celebrate for awhile versus freaking out about next year.

Basically the only leverage Sal has is to give the Royals more years. The Royals took a risk when they signed him. He had played 3 weeks as a big league player, and they offered him a contract, and he took it.

5mins of googling makes me think that the contract would have to be bought out first which would essentially make him a free agent

Hey Phil, add me to your list. I don't care if it is 1 year from now or 10 years from now, I still want my 2015 Championship hug. Cfor3, you don't have an option, as soon as I see you, you are getting double high fives right into a 2015 Championship hug.

don't the Royals have some rich donors that can just pay all of our good players to stay longer, kind of like college sports, except legal?
