OK, let's stop posting about superficial things like how hot the players are and get back to talking about how many millions of dollars they are going to make next year.

Done.

I hope we keep Gordo and Zobrist.

yeah, and i hope we sign 25 year old a-rod for $5M/year
I think what my friend Mitch is trying to say is that true love is blind.

So do we just stick to Salvy's original contract and let him walk when it's up?

I had no clue how many people hate Kacie Mcdonnell. Like, all my coworkers hate her, because apparently she blocks people easily on twitter or something and Ms. Wacky doesn't think she's hott. I mean, I know it's #science and stuff, but some females are cray cray!

i've never heard anyone have an opinion on her

not being hot and blocking people on twitter? my lord, get the rope.
I know, right?! Honestly, MS. wacky doesn't even think Hosmer is hot (She's crazy!), so it's not like she's staking claim to him, but I think these other ladies are. I think about 97% of the population would like to leave whatever scrub they're with, so they can get a piece of the Hos!  :fatty:

People who don't think obviously hot people are hot usually got some issues.

there are so many corner outfielders this year.  like millions of them.  maybe the first year in the history of forever that free agents don't get larger than expected contracts.  at least the corner outfielder agents.

the crowdsourced zobrist contract looks surprisingly affordable.  i'd do that in a heartbeat.  but i think he'll get more and longer.  i think they'll end up being high on their gordo predicto and low on their zobsie predicto.

in my incredibly i don't give a crap because it's not my money and i have other teams to follow when they start to suck opinion, i'd sign them both and compete for two more championships then sit there overpaying them or maybe lucking out and being able to trade their contracts in 2018 when they suck because they're old and the royals suck because all the good players will be able to leave.

i wouldn't give salvy a penny more either.  the way he's trending now, he's not going to be worth much when his current contract ends.  maybe the prospect of making millions less than he could if he played smarter will incentivize him to play smarter.

i want young back more than anything though.  he'll cost a lot more than last year, but he should still be a relative bargain.  it'll piss me off so much if they let him just walk away.

I'm optimistic that our rotation will be better next year than it was this year. I also think the Royals keep Gordon.

keeping zobsie and gordon is not impossible.  they'll probably choose just one and get a pitcher, but if they forgo the pitcher and roll with young and zimmer with the expectation of getting another july rental they could probably afford both.

this post compares royals relief pitchers innings and production from 2014 to 2015!!!!

the first numbers are 2014 and the second are 2015

overall relief pitchers
464 IP, 3.30 ERA
539 IP, 2.72 ERA

Davis
72 IP, 1.00 ERA
67 IP, 0.94 ERA

Herrera
70 IP, 1.41 ERA
69 IP, 2.71 ERA

Holland
62 IP, 1.44 ERA
44 IP, 3.83 ERA

Crow 14 - Madson 15
59 IP, 4.12 ERA
63 IP, 2.13 ERA

Coleman 14 - Morales 15
34 IP, 5.56 ERA
62 IP, 3.18 ERA

Bueno 14 - Hochevar 15
32 IP, 4.18 ERA
50 IP, 3.73 ERA

Mariot 14 - Young 15
25 IP, 6.48 ERA
24 IP, 2.59 ERA

Collins 14 - Finnegan 15
21 IP, 3.86 ERA
24 IP, 2.96 ERA

Frasor
17 IP, 1.53 ERA
23 IP, 1.54 ERA

Downs 14 - Blanton 15
14 IP, 3.14 ERA
23 IP, 2.74 ERA

my takeaway: how could anybody not think our bullpen was much much much deeper in 2015? all the above numbers do not include the playoffs.

Davis remained freakishly good, Herrera regressed a bit but is still very very good. Holland was broken. Frasor was the exact same. Every single other relief pitcher was replaced by a better pitcher. I mean look at going from Aaron GD Crow to Ryan GD Madson. wow.

overall relievers pitched 75 more innings in 2015 than in 2014. Yet no individual pitcher pitched more than last year. so where did the innings come from? Mostly Morales and Hochevar, who pitched a combined 112 innings, compared to (the vastly shittier) Coleman and Bueno, who only pitched a combined 66 innings.

summary: dayton and ned are humongous studs with 2 giant brains and 4 giant balls shared between them. wow, what a season. i mean that's how you F'ing compile and use a bullpen.

They said during Mondesi's at bat that the Royals thought about not trading for Zobrist and just promoting Mondesi to start at 2nd. If Infante can get healthy, he will probably be our best 2nd baseman unless we sign Zobrist, though.
