my takeaway: how could anybody not think our bullpen was much much much deeper in 2015? all the above numbers do not include the playoffs.
Davis remained freakishly good, Herrera regressed a bit but is still very very good. Holland was broken. Frasor was the exact same. Every single other relief pitcher was replaced by a better pitcher. I mean look at going from Aaron GD Crow to Ryan GD Madson. wow.
overall relievers pitched 75 more innings in 2015 than in 2014. Yet no individual pitcher pitched more than last year. so where did the innings come from? Mostly Morales and Hochevar, who pitched a combined 112 innings, compared to (the vastly shittier) Coleman and Bueno, who only pitched a combined 66 innings.
summary: dayton and ned are humongous studs with 2 giant brains and 4 giant balls shared between them. wow, what a season. i mean that's how you F'ing compile and use a bullpen.
