Can't wait till this negativity subsides once we clobber Kluber ( :D) tonight, have the highest diff in the league, and are sitting in first again.

Danny Parkins
@DannyParkins
Royals hitters in last 6 losses: Escobar 5-27, Moose 5-20, Cain 3-21, Hosmer 4-19, Morales 5-20, Gordon 5-20, Perez 2-19, Infante 1-21. Yuck

We had 6 hits or less in a game only 8 times in the first 42.  We have done it 4 times last 7 games

We were hitting .309 with RISP thru 42 games.   We are 7-34 (.206) the last 7 games

1)  We are not getting the hits and 2) we are not getting important hits when guys are in scoring position.
If you only get 7-8 hits, you may be able to score 4-6 runs if you can get 3-4 hits with RISP.
In our last homestand, we won a game scoring 6 runs and won a game scoring 7 runs.   We only had 17 total hits in the 2 games but got 7 hits (7-17) with RISP

they also didn't have any plate discipline during the time when they were hitting the crap out of the ball.

unless a game goes extras, you get 24 or 27 outs in almost all games.... depending on if its a home win vs  home loss/road game
Royals have been poor about drawing walks all year.   They may have been swinging at some bad pitches before, but they were clearly getting more hits and striking out less

First 42 games =  Royals ave 5.4 strikeouts.  Ave 26.0 outs per game.   They ave 9.95 hits.  (20.8% of outs via K)
Last 7 games =  Royals ave 9.0 strikeouts.   Ave 27.8 outs per game.   They have 6.57 hits  (32.4% of outs via K)

We were at 1.84 hits for every strikeout.   Just 0.73 these past 7 ball games

if there is any real difference, and not just randomness, it is almost certainly that pitchers are throwing royals hitters worse pitches to hit, not that the hitters are swinging at worse pitches.

The Royals organization values putting the ball in play above nearly anything else. I think stretches like this are going to happen as opponents adjust pitching against us. The Royals just have to adjust  their approach as well, but I don't expect us to suddenly start taking a bunch of walks.

man this is what rock bottom must feel like (i don't actually know)

Last year, we won 10 games in a row and were riding a high.

Then we lost 6 of 7 in this frustrating fashion....
1) Allowed 4 hits to Det but lost 2-1
2) Lost 3 games to Sea and 1 to the Dodgers.  All 4 losses the game was tied after 6 Inn, and we lost by 1,1,1,2
3) We gave up 2 runs but got beat by the best pitcher in baseball in 2014 (Kershaw)

Mo Cat my friend,  It got pretty low after a very high high.
At 28-14, winners in 7 of 8, we were on a high and now on a low...... but its not rock bottom

Also, despite improvement over early last year, we still don't hit homeruns. 27th in MLB in Homers. We rely heavily on stringing together hits. I mean, we scored 12 WITHOUT a HR against NY a couple weeks back. But yeah, a no BB no HR team will have its slumps. Hopefully tonight we get out of it, but a cool, wet night against Kluber doesn't exactly get me pumped
