Anyways, the lack of offense is the story again. HDH's armor is due to be dented here and there.

look, about 5 different players had chances to end the inning and they all came up either way short or just short.  it sucks, but the most cogent analysis i've seen points to the fact that we didn't have these kinds of problems with orlando in right.

Agreed. The bats have been pathetic lately and are again tonight.

no wonder infante was in such a panic about the ball getting into right field that he bobbled it on that dp.

Say what you want about the infante play, but the last 6 outs were: ground out, SO, SO looking, SO looking, SO, ground out. The offense has no swag right now.

Even worse when you thing that those 6 batters were Moose, Cain, Hosmer, Morales, Gordon and Rios (ok maybe not so much Rios but you get the picture)

Yep.  Score 1 in a 14-1 contest, who cares. Score 1 run when the other team scores 2 (last 2 games)..... Sucky loss.

It's been really weird to have an early lead in the division. I've been wanting to freak out for awhile now, but even after all this shitty baseball we're still right on the verge of being in first place.

Only one of those players failed due to mental lapse. Wade Davis is asked to be focused for about 5 minutes every 3 or so night, and he fully failed tonight. He rough ridin' lost track of a fat second baseman and let him walk to second base. That guy scored the winning run on hit he had no chance of scoring on from 1b. Wade later further jeopardized his pathetic appearance (2 bb? In 1 ip) by watching a ground ball hit to the right side, instead of doing what hours of PFP's dictate he do, and immediately move towards first base on a ball hit to the right side.

The casual fans on this board want to pile on the second baseman who booted his one ball (not from mental lapse or failing in fundamentals, but because of the imperfection in the dirt in front of him) out of about 500 opportunities. That is a stinging indictment of how clueless and horribly stupid they are.

Kipnis would have been on 2nd anyway after the Santana walk. With Clev best hitter on deck, Wade wasn't working around Santana either, once Kipnis got to 2nd.

Kipnis stealing and Wade not covering 1st were not big factors in the run scored. His 2 walks were a factor, but they shouldn't have been. Mainly cause the Santana should have not even come to bat in the 8th
