Guys, food for thought here. I've been watching a lot of replays of the Royals at the gym in the morning and I realized that Salvy dumps the Gatorade bath every time. I'm starting to get a little bit worried about this. I mean, he already catches too much and now we wanna risk our all-star catcher to slip and fall on his face while dumping water on someone to celebrate?! We need to fix this! Thoughts?

Does he do this at away games too? If so, that probably has more than a little to do with all of the plunkings. I would be ok if he kept the 'rade baths as a K only thing.

Yes. He did it yesterday to Morales.

Anthony Davis had a similar injury last year and missed about 3 weeks. Different sport, but that gives an idea on the timetable.

Fortunately we have lots of options (Dyson, Orlando) for a replacement. The big drawback here is this may cut into Alex's days off while he's trying to get back to 100%.

A break like this normally takes 3-4 weeks to heal.  Then probably a few days of rehab assignments or just rehab work. A-Rod had break to exact same bone in 2012. He was out  for 39 days.   be nice if Rios only misses 4weeks/month, but if misses 2/3 of the month of May, I wouldn't be surprised.

Bring up Land Adams. Gore can't hit, and we still need to be resting Gordon. This basically signals the end to any off days for Alex. I like Gore, I think he's great when you have 40 in September, or even in a playoff series. But I don't think we need him as much as we need someone who could actually hit.

I would be more concerned if he was our 4th OF, but he is the 5th and likely won't have a single AB in his time in KC. Gore only has one skill, but it's a very elite skill that has been known to win games.

Alex can still have occasional days off with the Cain/Dyson/Orlando combo.

It's very dumb, cf3. Gore has a zero batting avg right now in single A. What are we doing? crap, I'd prefer Bubba of all ppl.

Gordon (L), Dyson (C), Cain (R).  Paulo Orlando 4th OF.  Gore 5th OF.

Basically, Dyson fills in for Rios and Gore takes Dyson's spot on the bench.

my guess is gordon will continue to get the same amount of rest he's been getting which is afternoon games after night games. gordon will stay in left, cain will stay in center and dyson/other guy will platoon right.

on the afternoons after a night game, other guy will play left and dyson will stay in right. doesn't sound like they'll move cain from center.

if one of those four gets hurt then you'll see them call up another outfielder and put them ahead of gore. no way gore sees the plate while he's up here.

Dyson is going to get Rios's at bats. Gore is only there to PR

My thoughts exactly. Save it for September/playoffs.
