Rios was hit on the first pitch after a pitching change, preceded by Gordon's HBP  :curse: :comehere:

Anthony Davis had a similar injury last year and missed about 3 weeks. Different sport, but that gives an idea on the timetable.

Fortunately we have lots of options (Dyson, Orlando) for a replacement. The big drawback here is this may cut into Alex's days off while he's trying to get back to 100%.

I think the biggest drawback is that Rios is blazing hot right now and we have to put him on ice for about a month. It's bullshit.

Hopefully we wait until Herrara's inning to do it.

One thing that's interesting: You hear the Royals described as a young team. This isn't true. According to ESPN Stats & Information research, the Royals actually had the second-oldest average age on Opening Day rosters at 30 years, 100 days (the Giants at 31 years, 100 days were by far the oldest).

Skewed by a few super-old dudes like Ibanez. What they (the core of the team) really are this season more so than last is a bunch of guys right in the prime, or entering the prime of their careers.

Ibanez is no longer on the team.

There are more guys 34 or older (six) than guys 24 or younger (two) on the active roster. Most of the middle relievers are old.

Yeah, originally had last year in my post. A few oldish utility and pen guys def skewing the average.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

I want these teams to pay! :shakesfist: But I don't wanna waste a HBP on the Twins with Vargas in a few days. Take that (87 mph fast ball)!  :shakesfist:

Edinson Volquez's mid-90s heat seems pretty trivial to any Royals' fortunes for the next couple of days.

Yeah, but I don't want him wasting pitches, yet. Not until I totally trust him.  :)

Guys, food for thought here. I've been watching a lot of replays of the Royals at the gym in the morning and I realized that Salvy dumps the Gatorade bath every time. I'm starting to get a little bit worried about this. I mean, he already catches too much and now we wanna risk our all-star catcher to slip and fall on his face while dumping water on someone to celebrate?! We need to fix this! Thoughts?

Wasting pitches? I'm assuming he could drill a guy on the first or second try.

It's his thing, Wacky. You wouldn't want to be deprived of your thing, would you?

No, I'm just worried you guys!  :ohno: Also, I shouldn't have said "wasting pitches", but every time we've retaliated this season with the bean ball, the opposing team has scored. If we're going to do this, I want the game to be a lock.

Who cares? In a bean-ball situation KC would be up by at least three or four runs.

I've been thinking about using the hashtag #roysonroyds whenever we get a HR. Thoughts?

You should be. Don't let mocat and cf3 try and bully you around. Sheesh.
