Would love it if we had a soft cap on minutes for Lee for the first 2/3 or 3/4 of the season (15-20 per game) - particularly against teams with smaller posts that, in theory, Taylor/Maupin/Lester could handle.

Will always feel like we're on borrowed time with Lee's knees/ankle, which is terrible, but also hard to shake that feeling

Taylor has been pretty good, I worry about her when she has to face actual big centers though. Maupin has been very disappointing to me, she hasn't seemed to develop, at all. I have really been impressed with Sanchez this season, it isn't reflected in her numbers yet, but it looks like the game is really starting to slow down for her and she looks a lot more confident. Taryn was really good last night, I still have my same reservations about her. Those Creighton guards aren't either big or athletic, frankly they are a lot like her and I think she would thrive in their system. I'll continue to hope that I'll be proven wrong, but we're not there yet. Mittie very clearly is giving her point minutes from both Serena and Zy.

It feels like we do. She's played a total of 26 minutes. We will need to ramp her up to make sure she's ready for conference play. Unlike the men, the women do have a really good non con schedule so I think he days of playing 10 minutes a game might be numbered. We play Duke in 10 days and possibly OU 36 hours later.

she (lee) looked very out of shape which isn’t the criticism that it may sound like, just an observation.  by shape, i’m talking cardio, and again, pretty understandable.

Very frustrating sitting here watching the recent plays scroll by and see Taryn turn it over twice in a row. And I say that as a Taryn fan. We are not playing well and it doesn't even seem competitive.

I didn't watch the horror show today, but I honestly think I'd rather take the lumps with Walker so that Sundell can play off ball. She's been great at scoring so far this year in that role (and, I'm also still having nightmares about her handling the ball vs. Colorado last year).

I agree though about the ptsd from the colorado game, and the 6 turnovers texas game in the big xii tournament

it’s obvious she wants to play off ball though so I guess that’s what mitts is working with

Kicked the crap out of a not-good Depaul team today and now we have 6 games (all pretty easy) before Big 12 play.

And, even then, the schedule is quite favorable (and somewhat backloaded). We don't play a preseason top 5 Big 12 team until Iowa State at home on Jan. 30.

If we have more than 2-3 losses before Jan. 30, something is wrong.

Iowa State absolutely demolished by South Carolina yesterday 76-36. ISU hit a 3 to open the game... then SC scored the next 32(!) points. ISU went almost 15 minutes of game time without scoring and finished the first half with 9 points. Even in a sport as top heavy as WBB, a top 5 team beating a top 15 team by this margin is still a bit surprising.

This game was a great example of the extreme difference in athleticism between the two teams.  Iowa State had no one on their roster who could compete against their counterpart.  I don't want to discount that SC is also much better coached, but just watching the players move on the court, within seconds it was clear that Iowa State had no chance.
