Well, I was wrong. We lost. Cyclones did a good job against Jeff's various zones. Lewis didn't react well to aggressive play in the paint (ISU scored too many baskets against her, and she missed too many inside shots and layups herself--her stats are misleading in this regard because she didn't play all that well), although there were some indications that she wasn't at full speed. Martin's aggressiveness exceeded anything we've seen from her yet--she's a good player and will get even better.

When Lewis becomes more aggressive on both ends, we'll be a much better team.

It wasn't pretty. Lewis has to be more aggressive. She tends to sulk when getting pushed around inside. And too many missed layups as a team. Martin continued to play well and took it to the rim more often than I recall seeing in the past. Tough road trip to Norman this weekend.

that kind of beat down isn't really explained by sulking or a few missed layups.

 Lewis' play and the missed layups were just part of it.

Cats fell 'way behind early today, but fought hard the rest of the way to make it somewhat close. Goth played quite a bit and made a difference by playing out front in the zone at times. Kindred is a good player, but we need a bit more size out front when we play the zone.

Agreed. KU has lost 8 games in a row. Only one has been close (ORU).
