I caught the second half. It will be fun to watch the battle between Yoki and Kiki Iriafen. Yoki has three inches on her but is definitely going to be a step or two slower. Would love to see some pregame analysis from MIR and/or KITH

Yoki and Iriafen won't be guarding each other. Rayah Marshall is their center. She's relatively short, at 6'3" but she's stronger than the Kentucky bigs. Iriafen will be guarded by Poindexter. I wouldn't be surprised to see us also double her if she catches in the post, and play a little zone. Poindexter will be fine, she guarded a 6'5" player last weekend.  Even with Juju, USC struggles to shoot. Their most reliable shooters are freshmen and are streaky. Expect the guards to go under screens again.

@pissclams worry about our offense is very valid. They are extremely physical and will attempt to push use out. We should be able to spread them pretty easily, but we have to hit shots. I think Kentucky are overall better defenders, but USC forces more turnovers, and we all know how we struggle against teams like that. Having Lee will help us out a great deal, if they don't double her, she'll eat Marshall up. USC will have to pick their poison, we will force them to shoot a lot of threes and they aren't good at it. I think/hope that we will use the press again. Watkins handles the ball so much for them, and they will have freshmen doing that for them now.

The bottom line for me is how well we shoot, I'm not feeling it.

62-58, USC.

The coverage of the tournament this week has really pissed me off, pissed me off so much that I'm mad at my prediction and I'm changing it. Why is no one talking about Lee and Sundell? USC has great talent, and they will be tough to beat. We have the two best players in this game and everyone has been so either dismissive or indifferent to the Cats. The only team in all of college basketball right now, just as disrespected, if not more is OU Women's Basketball. We're going to win this game tomorrow night. Who is going to guard Serena? This game will be her magnum opus, it will be one of the most memorable single game performances in Kansas State sports history. She's going for 18 points, 12 assists, 9 rebounds, and 3 steals. Lee will have 23 and 9.

Can you really play the disrespect card when ESPN just released a ranking of the top 25 players left in the tourney and had Lee at No. 24 and Sundell at No. 25...

serena balled out against kentucky and carried the team in the 1st half, she doesn’t want to quit playing

Are you asking that sarcastically? You're kidding right? That crap's embarrassing. Serena at 25 and HVL at 9? What in the hell do you think Serena thinks about that. Serena stuffed that midget in a damn locker. Chloe Kitts, Sedona Prince, and Raegan Beers higher than Ayoka Lee?  What do you think Temira Poindexter's reaction was when she saw that list?

Did you watch the studio show after the Duke UNC game? They "previewed" the game, they talked about the game for three minutes. They spent two sentences on K-State. One of the women in the studio, the new one who I don't know, mentioned using Lee to get USC spread out so we can get the open shots we got against Kentucky. The second sentence was Muffet McGraw saying "Yeah, but USC will be able to guard Lee with one player so they won't have that space." Then the segment ended. Wild.

I've taken this team to task at times for their lack of toughness and attitude, but they are significantly tougher and meaner than K-State casuals give them credit for. Poindexter has an edge and I think she's helped Ayoka and Serena play with more of one. I would be shocked if these women don't have a KS hill sized chip on their shoulders right now. The level of disrespect they are facing right now is palpable. I just hope they use that chip the right way and come out and punch USC square in their rough ridin' mouths. They have a bunch of freshmen, get in their kitchens and rattle the eff out of them.

Yeah, I was kidding.

But, I will say this - whether it's been Deb Patterson or Jeff Mittie, this program has consistently shat the bed when given the opportunity to make a name for itself in the NCAA Tourney (an elite program has more than two sweet 16s in 40 years).

The old guard of women's bball will never give this program the time of day until it starts proving itself in the NCAA tourney and the opportunity to take that first step starts tomorrow.

HEY ESPN, why don’t you talk about the players who are actually playing in this game like the best player in this game, #4 Serena Sundell!?!?

Maybe call any foul at all (e.g. being arm hooked on a D-board) committed against Yoki on both ends?

They are going to need sundell to have the 4th quarter of her life.  Unfortunately Lee has been rendered ineffective.

They fought hard, gotta give them that.  We just didn't have the players or coaching to get to the elite 8.

They were that close. USC was really long, athletic and physical.
Have really loved watching this team the two years.

So, we shorten the bench against a team that applies zero on ball pressure and then we decide to open things up against a team in the top 20 at forcing TOs.

This is the type of dumbassery that results in me never having faith in this coaching staff (which actually had a great defensive game plan to start the game)

yup.  the worst rotations he’s played in a long time. there were several times tonight where our five on the floor had such a limited chance of scoring but he stuck with it.

there were some pieces of a good game plan but that isn’t enough to cut it against a team like usc.  as one dimensional as we were, we had a chance at the end but the shots didn’t fall.
