Hoped for:
Samuels Sr, returns
Asprilla Sr, returns
Hen-Ro Jr, returns
Irving Jr, returns
Judge Jr, big year, declares
McGruder Jr, returns
Myles Jr, transfers to Buffalo
Russell Jr, returns
Peterson, Jr, returns with scholarship
Reed Jr, enrolls with scholarhip
Lawrence Jr, walkon
Southwell So, returns
Williams So, returns
Spradling So, transfers to Washburn, about his skill level
Gipson Fr, enrolls with scholarship
Diaz Fr, does prep for one year
Rodriguez-Trioche Fr, enrolls with scholarhip

Bet you thought the same about Steven Henson.  :opcat: <-----------this exept with a black hood.

I get where the comparison comes from, people love comparing white players to other white players without fail, but I remember my dad telling me about steve henson's ridiculous kansas high jump record or something and how insane of an athlete he was coming into k-state. I don't think him and Spradling are all that alike of players, really. (Not a knock on Spradling at all).

Sprads is going to play a pretty decent amount of minutes (as a true freshman) for a top 5 team.  How does he have D2 skills again?

Damn it, now my post makes me look like a dumbass. Thanks jtksu for supporting me.

No, your post was okay.  Sprads hate at this point is unfounded.

I believe he is gonna turn into one of those players opposing fans go, "He hasn't graduated yet???"

I would love to finally have one of those guys. eff Jeff Boschee. (sp?)

They keep saying it's just a matter of straightening some details out.  The sooner the better, I want him playing at full speed by conference.  He could really prove to be an X-factor this year.  95!!!

Have no idea how Martin is going to shoehorn us into the limit if Reed wants a scholarship (don't see one there for Lawrence). There isn't anyone who if he leaves we won't be here doing a Fred Brown thing.
I guess Irving and Spradling are the most expendable. Admit I way underestimated Spradling.

Sprads ain't going anywhere and I doubt Irving does.  We're going to need all the guards we have next year.  Reed already said he doesn't think he'll get a schollie.  He can pay instate one year before he heads to the league.  Hopefully Diaz goes prep for a year like JO did.

Unless Reed decides to go juco, I can't imagine he would go anywhere but MHK.

I believe once you start your first day of collegiate sports, your clock starts ticking. Which you have 5 years to play 4, with injuries and so forth. So he can eff around at home, but his clock is still rolling. Is this what you were asking?

Not really.  He has to sit a year since transferring, does he have to be enrolled for this year to start ticking away?

I have always known it as "Division I is five calendar years within first full time enrollment." Regardless if you are in school or not.

I have always known it as "Division I is five calendar years within first full time enrollment." Regardless if you are in school or not.

According to the NCAA it was the rule even before it was the rule.

Quote
Tennessee Tech coach Mike Sutton, who said he “looked forward” to having Mink on his team this season, turned over Mink’s college information to his rules compliance director, who, in turn, contacted the NCAA.

The NCAA found a problem: Mink first played college basketball in 1955-56 for Lees Junior College of Jackson, Ky. NCAA rules allow players five years to play four seasons.

Mink’s five-year window, according to the NCAA, started when he enrolled at Lees in 1955, making him ineligible to play at Tennessee Tech this year.

“We got bad news,” Sutton said. “The NCAA said Ken would not be eligible to play for us or any other NCAA team because of their 5-4 Rule. The 5-4 Rule says you must complete your four years of college play within a five-year period. They say Ken’s 5-4 Rule clock started in 1955 when he was in junior college. We think his 5-4 clock should not have started until 2008, when he played for Roane State.”

The 5-4 Rule was implemented by the NCAA decades after Mink first played college basketball. Sutton said “it is not fair to subject him to a rule that never existed when he first played college ball.”
