@UD and/or Sys-  I get that it's a running joke that Baylor offers everyone worth a crap but how do you guys think that effects their recruiting?  Seems like some players would shy away from that behavior, yet Scotty seems to land some very nice players.  Will it eventually catch up, or is that a common tactic? I guess I'm just curious what downside there is to just offering the eff out of players.  We seem to offer few players and don't land the players Baylor does.TIA.

i guess one downside could be spreading your recruiting attention too thin, and losing a recruit you want because he feels neglected.  with a hard working staff, probably not a big problem.

the real downside is the occasional awkward conversation when someone who thinks they had a real offer tries to commit and finds out they can't.  for a psychopath coach, that's not an issue.

Well one of the pretty obvious downsides to making so many offers is risking the scenario in which 3 or 4 guys say yes early on, and you're stuck with those guys if another guy that's better wants in later and you're out of schollies.

It definitely seems to be working, though, at least until BU gets busted. By now we've got to come to terms with the fact that players apparently want to play in Waco($), but all those offers creates competition and encourages recruits to commit ASAP in order to avoid ending up being left out. Also keeps Baylor almost constantly in the recruiting headlines.

Tough nosed. Stubborn at times. Goes for homerun plays a lot. High level offensive package. Great hands. Needs to pick and choose.

Commend the fearlessness of Angel Rodriguez BUT he's got to take better shots and less chances w/ball. Now, he's a tough kid, rebounds too.

telep from today, so i guess he prolly was at this morning's game.

Game 1: Norfolk Christian (Va.) 62 Dr. Krop (Miami,Fl.) 60

Norfolk was lead by there All-American 6-foot-8, Senior James McAdoo and his 18 points to go along with 10 rebounds. McAdoo who displayed a polished face-up game with the ability to use either shoulder equally well and even displayed sweeping weak hand hooks will take his services to Chapel Hill next season for the Tarheels.

Norfolk has three other places reach double figures with Mike Murray (15pts/game winning layup), Dontrell Silver (15pts) and Mario Nixons’s double-double with (10pts and 10rbs).

Dr. Krop was lead by Kansas State signee Angel Rodriguez who went for 22 points on the night to go along with 6 assists and 3 steals. Rodriguez who’s owns a complete offensive package with combo scoring moves, ability to shoot the deep ball and court vision will be a solid player for Frank Martin in years to come. 6-foot-2, Senior, Bryan Delancy was infuego from beyond the arch going 6-for-11 totaling 18 points. Hightly touted, and very athletic 2012 big man Tyrone Haughton finished with a quiet 8 points and 7 rebounds, but his prescience in the lane, along with length and athletic ability make him a top big in the country.

Dr. Krop goes into the consolation bracket Saturday afternoon where they will face local program North Port. Norfolk Christian will take on the winner of Milton/Fort Myers late Monday afternoon.

I know he's got a different skill set, but could he sound any more like Denis?

No, every update sounds more and more like Denis. By the time he gets here, they'll be identical.

Denis should come back for this year's senior year.  If anyone bothers to show up for the game, he would get a much louder cheer.

it probably sounds like every guard that's the best player on their team.  i'm sure someone could have said the same about pullen, spradling, etc.

i don't think ar-t will remind people too much of clemente when they're watching him play.  though, some dumbasses are actualy using a spradling-henson comparo, so i guess a shared cultural heritage is more important than a shared style of play.
