All of this Kansas-town comparing reminds me of what I was told when I moved here: "you live in the only nice town in Kansas."

lawrence is closer to the worst town in kansas

I've lived in Wichita all my life except my five years in Manhattan.

I'm sick of the place. The city seems to have no motivation to improve itself and actually become a real legitimate big city.

The bus service sucks, the river is polluted, and all the good local eateries are out of the way with shitty parking.

It lacks that progressive indie rock vibe that I want out of a town. I feel it in KC, Denver, and even Ok city, but not here.

Topeka now is the same Topeka as it was 20, 30 years ago, except for the crap on Wanamaker. Sorry if I offended anyone.

I was actually born there and spent time there somewhat regularly until like ten years ago.   Can confirm little has changed since then.

What's up with the owner of the Cici's in Topeka being found dead in Lawrence?   Looking for an 18 yr old female who may be connected?

He lives in Lawrence.   She was living with him, and a former employee.   He was apparently a father-figure, and many of his former employees say he helped them get straight.

They aren't sure if she was involved or not.

Hopefully no emaws work for this company, but if you don't you'll get a chance to move to Iowa and 'pak with MIR :dunno:

Just another great turn of events for downtown Topeka  :flush:
