j-dub is the weirdest part of the Kansas City sports threads on goEMAW.

he just posted a video of a chiefs player not being good and said he enjoys watching it. what is that about?

cuz cassel is part of the past and we can now laugh about it. detachment and distance bud.. cures all ills.

you're damn right i'm the kc sports fan outlier. kc fans have toiled in mediocrity so long that they don't how to expect or demand anything better.

eff that.

:cyclist:  We deserve better than this mediocre 5-0 start!  :shakesfist:

case in point. with 11 regular season games remaining and hopefully playoff games following that - chiefs fan is already satsified. nevermind that the organization hasn't won a playoff game in 20 effing years - WE'RE TOTALLY 5-0 GUYS!! YOU GUYS!! OMG!!!

In his defense J-Dub, he has a good point about 5-0 feeling good. I myself, have a case of Red Fever which is getting worse by the day. If we win Sunday, while setting a Chiefseo record for noise, I will feel the red fever even more.

obviously, i'm excited. but i'm not going to ignore that the passing game is subpar. that their are weaknesses at qb, wr and te.. i hope, i hope bravely, but not blindly.

Your right.. let's not enjoy a successful start.  Enjoyment is for after seasons are completed (only when your undefeated super bowl champs)

We need to concentrate on speculating on how we can get better (because this truly has an effect, much like enjoying seasons, on how the team performs or acquires new talent).  Lets continue to speculate on changing the head of our offense on a 5-0 team or how we should've taken a rookie QB instead of trading for him.

Good point.

NFL fans are so amazing! I love the prouder than crap chef fans who brag about having the most wins in the 1990's and just HATE the RAIDERS AND DONKEYS!!!

The greatest chefs moment of the last 40 years is nothing but a footnote at the end of Joe Montana's career.

Joe Montana, widely regarded as the greatest QB of all time, was the last QB to win a playoff game for the Chefs and that was 20 years ago....Tim Tebow, widely regarded as one of the worst QB's of all time, won a playoff game for the broncos 2 years ago.

*I am a chefs fan.

5-0 does not have me satisfied on the season as a whole.  There are things I would like to see improved.  That said I am going to enjoy the ride while it is happening.  It isn't even playoff win or bust with me this season.  Putting the season in context with the playoff win drought means also putting it in context as coming off a 2-14 season.

I'm about as satisfied as I can be after 5 games.  We have a defense that can win games.  We have an offense that won't lose games.  We have a QB that is serviceable but still at the level where we will look to improve given the opportunity.  In context, following the 2-14 season, that is about everything that I reasonably hoped for.

man thanks for bringing up the 1995 chiefs. for 8 year old mocat, this was probably the highlight of my life so far:

My mom let me stay up WAAAAAAAAAY past my bedtime when the Chiefs were on Monday night football. Then the next day after school me and my bros recreated the punt return like 10 times, then we got bored and went inside and played sega. Pretty sure some off brand soda was involved.

i seem to remember vanover being dog piled by the rest of the team, and Marty when over and kissed him on the face on TV, but i can't find that on the interwebs. do you remember that?

This isn't the year to draft a QB at the end of the first round. You know what they should draft? A stud LB.

We have maybe the best LBs in the league

No. Jordan needs to be replaced. And Johnson is 30, so I doubt he plays too much longer.

I just hate the idea of drafting a QB late in the first round. Who's the last great QB that was drafted that late? Rodgers? Wait until the Chiefs have a down year to get a QB. Hell, throw next year and grab Jameis.

That was this game, when James Hasty took an int to the house for an OT win.

this actually is a really strong year for qb's. saw a tweet yesterday that something like 9 of the top 50 players in the upcoming class are qb's.
